Reuters - Republican presidential contender Rick Santorum, a day after his stunning sweep of nominating contests in three states, scrambled in Texas on Wednesday to round up the support and money he needs to take on well-financed and well-organized rival Mitt Romney. After winning in Minnesota, Missouri and Colorado on Tuesday, Santorum sought to build on his momentum, addressing Texas pastors, donors and activists with the loosely organized conservative Tea Party movement. "Nobody ever thinks I can win anything," Santorum told about 600 people at a meeting with Christian pastors at the Bella Donna Chapel in McKinney, Texas. "The gift of being underestimated is a great gift." Santorum, a former U.S. senator from Pennsylvania and a staunch social conservative, became the first Republican White House hopeful to win four of the state-by-state contests to pick a nominee to oppose Democratic President Barack Obama in the November 6 election. His sweep on Tuesday raised new questions about presumed front-runner Romney, who holds strong organizational and financial advantages over Santorum and the other Republican candidates but has yet to prove he can win over conservatives in the party who see him as too moderate.

Mr. Newt now needs to go completely positive with a clear and clean definition of real “Conservatism” and his plan to bring America back!
LOL.
While I like Rick S. well enough, I agree with what you said.
Next payday Newt gets ANOTHER donation from us.
The sun rose in the EAST!
LOL!
He wants money? Good, I sent some to Newt!
List Ping!
FReepmail Antoninus to be added or removed.
Rick Santorum deserves our support. Newt promises amnesty for criminal aliens. No thanks Newt.
Go Newt!!!
I have already signed on as a “bloggers for Newt”, and added a link to my blogroll. :) If Rick ends up pushing Newt out, I will certainly get behind him - but I personally feel Newt has the experience to better fill the bill.
I’m sending some to Rick as well.
At least I don’t have to hold my nose to vote from him.
Rick Santorum is a spoiler. Go Newt.
Third time’s a charm. This time it won’t stick. People understood that Newt has a mixed past, they won’t buy it with Santorum and are ready to consider the source.
How so? Santorum's support splits evenly between Romney and Newt, not because Newt's a great guy but because so many cannot countenance his repeated willingness to violate his most solemn oaths. They don't trust him.
OTOH, when Newt is out we've seen virtually ALL of it go to Santorum.
Mathematically, that makes Newt the spoiler.
Senor Newt blew it in Florida. All that pandering to illegals for nothing!
Listen today when RS spoke he said nothing negative about Newt, but hit Romney hard, repeating many of Newt's charges.
In fact if you listen very carefully Rick's speeches today were almost what you hear from a person endorsing a candidate: repeating the candidates mantra etc.
Rich has another million compared to Romney twenty million. Rich was in the three states over twenty times. Rich cannot continue that one on one contact, but he can land an occasional punch......And together look what they can do: Eliminate Romney.
Santorum beat Romney by thirty points in Missouri because the spoiler Newt wasn’t on the ballot.
