Most women...not those informed like many here...have historically voted based somewhat on either looks or a grandfatherly demeanor or sometimes both...Reagan and Bush I could claim that ...handsome and yet warm and secure made women feel comfortable
it’s just one of those things political operatives know...good looking men run better with women
Newt and to a lesser degree Rick are at a disadvantage in that way
Married Christian Women seem to be less drawn to this ..but still
and I will admit, I would likely find a pretty woman more appealing ...but I am not crazy about woman pols as a rule anyhow..a few exceptions here and there

It boils down to this: Mr. Romney's mildness, seen as a demerit by many conservatives, is a plus for him in swing areas such as voter-rich Arapahoe County, a bellwether for this key electoral state and a place where women dominate the electoral rolls.
