He was great! First time I’ve heard anyone lay it on the line that this election is about our freedom.

Newt may have too many negatives, even within his own party, to become President.

Yes, too many negatives. But I don't think Newt wants a position in anyone else's administration. He's too much a lone eagle.

Anyone have any idea why the news media is not reporting any but a few Colorado precincts? Several FReepers have posted their Colorado precinct results... why has this not made it to the news media?

Wow! Odd way of going about it in Maine. Minnesota’s caucus system may be a little odd, but it is certainly grassroots. It enables one to select directly and on the spot who will be the delegates from your precinct. People can self-nominate, the list of names goes up on a blackboard and we vote by paper ballot. No funny business. These delegates go to the county convention and from there, smaller numbers are elected to go to the state convention and so on.

He needs to get a little more animated. What he is preaching is great stuff. It needs to come from the heart and not a back and forth teleprompter.

He can get stiff on camera.

Great speech by Rick, especially the freedom part.

Haven't heard him speak before, but inspirational.

Romney coming up -- mostly a bunch of teenagers behind the podium.

There’s lots of “lone eagle” jobs in an adnministration. Secretary of State for example. Chairman of the Federal Reserve?

That’s not winning, that’s domination! I would love to see the spending results. I doubt Santorum outspent Romney, but I doubt the media will mention that. As close as Colorado is, I wouldn’t trust a media report saying Romney won after the Iowa theft.

Santorum runs the risk of becoming too dry and dull without someone interesting on his V.P. ticket. With Newt as the V.P., they’d be an incredible team that complements each other and would sweep into victory. Newt would be a fool to settle for anything less than V.P. Besides, Santorum already said in one debate or interview that he would pick Newt as his V.P.

State of Missouri Presidential Preference Primary

85 % of the Precincts Reporting

Santorum, Rick 56%

Romney, Mitt 25%

Paul, Ron 12%

The percentages are the same as when 25% of the precincts had reported

They need time to fix it, dammit. It ain’t easy to help Mitt when he’s not helping himself.

In our area after the precints are counted they are sent to a central location (county Clerk) where they are certified and then posted to the public.

Tallies are given to local precints as they leave. Each party must sign off on the ballot at the precint and are then given a non certified tally.

What were seeing is the non certified. The official site get the tally next and THEN it’s released to the media.

To: Hell to pay

if the caucus didn’t elect precinct delegates to the state convention, then it was not a caucus.

Did you not elect delegates from among the attendees?
The non-binding thing is a media piece of crap.

If Rick should win the GE, Wolfie will have to be put on suicide watch.

remember you are talking about wolf “jeopardy” blitzer. You could put him in a room filled with shoelaces, belts, rope, razor blades, and 3 bottles of Seconal and he couldn’t get the job done.

I miss Newt. Santorum’s just not an inspiring speaker, at least not most of the time. He wins on “nice guy” points for sure but other than that there isn’t any personal quality where he doesn’t pale compared to Newt.
