We are being herded towards having a fool as a candidate again. Romney reminds me of John McCain. I was around McCain several times and he is without a doubt a crazy old SOB. His wife is smoking hot though:) The problem with McCain and the probloem with Romney is that they are in their own little worlds and really think they know what they are doing. They think they are right about everything. McCain was bat $hit crazy in that regard. If he thinks something is so that is it. No matter what information there is to the contrary staring him in the face.
At the end of the day unless something dramatic happens we have a classic situation where our options are a douche bag or the turd sandwich Obama or whatever his real name is. In that regard I believe Obama gets his head handed to him. He has done such a good job of killing the USA that even Democrats like my aforementioned friend won't support him. Obama, simply put, scares people. And that will be his downfall.
He was also my choice for president. I think he will make an excellent VP choice for any of the others. He is everything that Obama is not and would bring the large Texas vote with him.
Similar to a great many posters even here, on this site.
Others want someone pure, just like they see when they look in the mirror, except you will never see them shoot for any elected office. They only orate and pontificate as to the weaknesses shown by the candidate actually in the fray, helping dems do the personal destruction routine.
Then, we have left what, some low life warmed over squishy mouthed pol, who is declared by the media and their stooges on the right as "the only one electable in this environment", and this phrase is parroted as the gospel by none other than the very voters who the media has pulled the wool over the eyes of.
Hell, the entire flock.
He put his presidential campaign "on suspension".
This keeps the door open to many interesting possibilities in the near future.

From the Texas Tribune:
“The governor said he would remain engaged in the fight against what he sees as federal overreach and the misguided socialist policies from President Obama.
This movement is bigger than any one man or woman, Perry said. It goes forward at a ballot box near you in 2012.”
Perry said he would continue to promote Texas nationally as a beacon of responsible conservative governance.
What role he will play isnt exactly clear, but Perry is still seeking the national spotlight.
He travels to Washington this week to address the Conservative Political Action Conference, or CPAC, and he will serve as the Republican speaker at the spring dinner of the Gridiron Club and Foundation in Washington in late March.
Perry hasnt ruled out running again for governor in 2014 or for president again, perhaps in 2016.”

True. Hmmm - hopefully we haven’t seen the last of him.
Perry always gave fire-brand speeches. The fast paced interruption filled sound byte TV debate format was difficult to handle.
We are happy to have him back, taking care of Texas business.
Give us a break on anything “TexasTribune”, no matter what they say now this Soros backed rag remains tainted with all the leftist BS lies they poured on Perry while he was running.
I agree with you about The Texas Tribune being unfair to Perry when he was running. Unfortunately, Perry was subjected to a lot of deliberately unfair media bias. The Texas Tribune was one of the worst in this regard.
FINALLY-—Something to hope for and look forward to. Who cares if Gov. Perry doesn’t like to DEBATE; neither did Thomas Jefferson! If Perry could run this Country half as well as he runs Texas, we’ll be getting somewhere. This is the Best News I’ve had in ages and hope to goodness it’s for real. GO PERRY GO!!!
