Ron Paul Tells CNN’s Piers Morgan Only “Honest Rape” Warrants An Abortion. (Honest Rape?)

During an appearance on CNN’s Piers Morgan, GOP presidential hopeful Ron Paul was asked whether as a man with daughters and granddaughters, Rep. Paul (R-TX) thinks that abortion is warranted if a woman has been impregnated by a rapist.

“If it’s an honest rape,” Paul replied, “that individual should go immediately to the emergency room, I would give them a shot of estrogen.” He claimed, however, that if a woman is “seven months pregnant” and says that she was raped, “It’s a little bit of a different story.” Source

SInce you like to ask pointless questions in an effort to divert from the topic, I have a question for you:

http://www.rebeccakiessling.com/about_rebecca.html

Grunthor, meet Rebecca. Since she is a product of rape, I’d like to know if you want to explain to her that her life is worth less than yours or mine, and that by giving birth to her, she imprisoned & punished her mother??

That’s my question for you. But since you seem to play the avoidance game, I won’t hold my breath waiting for an answer.

Where have I advocated for abortion in the case of rape? Rather I have advocated for the rape victim to have a choice. You see no difference. I can’t help you.;

“I fail to see how the 13th amendment, which deals with slavery & imprisonment, is applicable to this discussion”

I know.

Well, there would have to be more than just her say-so that she was raped.

Advocating for choice IS advocating for abortion. If you can’t see the difference, I can’t help that. Myself as well as other FReepers have offered more than enough evidence that an embryo is a human deserving of protection.

Abortion is wrong. Always. If you don’t get that, than you aren’t pro-life.

“Nothing could cause more “trauma” than abetting them in the killing of their own offspring.”

Really? Because as part of my job in a former profession, I dealt more than a few times with rape cases and while my experience may have been of a small sample, I have to disagree.

I also disagree with your use of the term “abetting.”

Once a woman is raped and forcibly impregnated is she merely a machine to you?

Once a baby is conceived by rape, is it merely a disposable piece of garbage to you??

No I actually adore babies.....but I am not going to deign to make a decision of that magnitude for a rape victim.

I come from a Law Enforcement/Military background so the cop part of my make-up takes over when discussing certain subjects. Someone who has been raped is a rape victim....I know of no other term for them within the context of the situation.

Now you go ahead and answer my question if you would.

So you adore babies do much that you’re willing to deny some their right to be born just because it might traumatize the mother?? That’s some sick logic

No. She is a human being, to be loved and protected as is the human life she is carrying inside her.

No, I have said that I am UNWILLING to make that decision for the rape victim. Honesty, much like context gets sadly lost in the shuffle of these internet discussions.

And how are you going to ensure that the human being that you are loving and protecting does not make a decision that you disagree with?

You’re right....it’s not your decision to make. Nor is it the woman’s. These children have the right to be born.

Abortion should be illegal.
