Following are excerpts from an interview with Colonel-General [ret.] Leonid Ivashov, former member of the Russian Joint Chiefs of Staff, which aired on Russia Today TV on February 1, 2012:
Interviewer: Dr. Leonid, do you think that these preparations and very large maneuvers, which will soon be conducted by Russia, are meant as preparation for war, or rather, a military strike against Iran?

Leonid Ivashov: These maneuvers and training will demonstrate Russia's readiness to use military power to defend its national interests and to bolster its political position. The maneuvers will show that Russia does not want any military operations to be waged against Iran or Syria. I assume that the people in the West and in Israel who design the schemes for a large geopolitical operation in the greater Middle East region draw a direct connection between the situation in Syria and in Iran. Indeed, these two countries are allies, and both are considered guaranteed partners of Russia. The only question, therefore, is who they will try to destroy first as a stable country: Syria or Iran.

A strike against Syria or Iran is an indirect strike against Russia and its interests. Russia would lose important positions and allies in the Arab world. Therefore, by defending Syria, Russia is defending its own interests.
In addition, Russia is thus defending the entire world from Fascism. Everybody should acknowledge that Fascism is making strides on our planet. What they did in Libya is nearly identical to what Hitler and his armies did against Poland and then Russia. Today, therefore, Russia is defending the entire world from Fascism.

If the two nuclear powers of Russia and China are going to throw their weight behind Iran, at least they understand the doctorine of MAD. A nuclear Iran has no such concerns, since their regime wants chaos and destruction to hasten the return of their well-dwelling savior.
Honestly, my biggest concern is not with any of our adversaries, but with the resolve (or lack thereof) of the current CiC in the face of this scenario.

The Russians then built new improved armaments and a large nuclear proof military complex under the Urals, and a naval base in Syria. So from 1991 or so until now there has been a false peace. The hook has now been set in the Jaw of Magog and the Russians and their allies are being pulled into the Middle East in a downward spiral.
In an article released in the last two days,by Reza Kahlili and entitled AYATOLLAH: KILL ALL JEWS, ANNIHILATE ISRAEL, the following points are made:
“Calling Israel a danger to Islam, the conservative website Alef, with ties to Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said the opportunity must not be lost to remove “this corrupting material. It is a ‘jurisprudential justification” to kill all the Jews and annihilate Israel, and in that, the Islamic government of Iran must take the helm.
The article, written by Alireza Forghani, a conservative analyst and a strategy specialist in Khamenei’s camp, now is being run on most state-owned conservative sites, including the Revolutionary Guards’ Fars News Agency, showing that the regime endorses this doctrine.”
The artile further states:
“In order to attack Iran, the article says, Israel needs the approval and assistance of America, and under the current passive climate in the United States, the opportunity must not be lost to wipe out Israel before it attacks Iran.”
Remember that Iran has been working in South America to funnel terroist through Mexico into the US for quite a while, and now admits they are building missile bases in Venezuela.

It is my understanding from reading the Scriptures that the Anti-Christ brokers the seven year peace treaty just after the end of the Ezekiel 38-39 War. Which means the Rapture will occur anytime between now and the end of the Ezekiel 38-39 War. Maranatha.

You never know, and I had to give it a shot. I remember the Chiefs kept the B-1 bomber program alive even after Jimmy Carter killed it. It was given new life when Ronny Ray-gun took office. I think these guys know the score and plan accordingly.

How would the Russians be able to attack targets in the US? I could ask for a source but you wouldn't give one (you tend to do what are known as drive-by posts), and even if you wanted to give one you couldn't because it is not possible. At best Russia is a regional power, albeit one with strategic nuclear weapons. Thus, unless you are talking about a nuclear attack on the continental United States, the Russians (and Chinese) couldn't attack the US. Even their defeat of Georgia (an easy defeat I agree) took more effort than was necessary, and that was next door. Even at the height of the Soviet Union a conventional attack on the US mainland was simply not possible.
The most Russia can do is send a couple of warships in that region and hope that their presence prevents an attack (not because the ships would shoot down the attackers, but rather because the attackers may be wary of inadvertently attacking/sinking a Russian ship and making the situation more complicated that it needed to be. A trip wire similar to that of US soldiers at the NKorea/SKorea border). As for attacks on the US - no way.
Now, if you meant a nuclear attack then accept my apologies. I thought you were making a rational post.
