-- The Tom Brokaw spot that basically defeated Newt in floriduuuuh is so bad that recently Mark Levin has challenged anyone to legitimize any of the 84 ethics charges filed against Newt. --

January 21, 1997 Congressional Record

Mr. CARDIN (of Maryland): [Gingrich] had a vision to launch a political movement to change the country, in his words, from a welfare state to an opportunity society. ...

When GOPAC ran short of funds, Mr. Gingrich sought contributions from several tax exempt entities in order to continue his partisan political crusade.

. . .

Looking toward the 21st Century, Respondent developed an approach which he referred to as the `five pillars' of renewing American civilization: (1) quality; (2) technological advancement; (3) entrepreneurial free enterprise; (4) principles of American civilization; and (5) psychological strength. Based on these principles, Respondent sought to initiate a movement to replace the welfare state and renew American civilization to occur at every level of American society. Renewal would require the accomplishment of various goals including the education of the general population and creation of a majority of citizens committed to reform, thereby spawning activism; education of business leaders; and education of the media as to the ideals and concepts of renewal. In effect, Respondent sought to create a national dialogue for reform and a methodology by which citizen activists could accomplish the stated goals of the movement.

To those in political power (and that includes many outside of elected office), this sort of sea change cannot be allowed to take place. When Congress rejects the objectives articulated by Gingrich, and Gingrich resigns for want of advancing those ideals against political opposition, he is said to have "resigned in disgrace."

There is some disgrace going on, alright, and it isn't where Romney claims it is.

It depresses me sooo much to see at least three people on this thread who avow that they won’t vote for Romney if he is the nominee.

That, of course, is a vote for Obama.

I cannot even fathom a conservative voting for Obama but that’s what this kind of stance will result in.

Praying we all come to our senses. We can teach the GOP a lesson in other ways. I’m already doing it by refusing to renew my membership in the National Party and telling them why.

You can’t change a party from without... it has to be from within.

Arianna yes; but ABC’s round table was unusually leaning right. Matthew Dowd, George Will (let’s not quibble), Dana Loesch (from Big Journalism). Only Arianna from the left. Even Georgie was outnumbered.

He [nobama] has basically declared war on the Catholic church.

IMHO, there's no "basically" about it. It is a frontal, all out assault!

Actually, I wrote a manual that explains the entire campaign program. It is bold, it is new/old very much grassroots and if our initial numbers are correct, it works.

-- If you can't see any differences between Obama and Romney, well I guess we'll have to leave it there. --

From my recollection, JediJones articulated both similarities and differences, including the possibility of Obama coming back for a second term starting in 2016. I'd add to that, if not Obama, then some other liberal Democrat.

I won't vote for the GOP electors if Romney is the nominee; and if I could take back my GOP vote when McCain was the nominee, I would do that, too.

I don't mind being called names here, or being labeled as being "the problem." In addition to not being bothered by it, I am not persuaded by being labeled.

Not calling you names and have always liked you, but I think that you are soooo wrong.

Maybe you’ll be struck blind on the road to Damascus.

Or, maybe I will.

Pat, every Sunday I read about your adventures in taki8g on the Country Club GOP-E and it delights me (and I’ll bet everyone else reading)! You are the example for the rest of us.

Beat them by joining them! Force them Rightward.

If he is elected he will lose anyway, but these people are representing the frustration of many if not most Conservatives in America. The Party ignores and in many cases hurts their chances of winning and after all that we are expected to do whatever they want.

The bigger issue is Chairmen and Captains of their districts are not going to put any effort in getting him elected and will focus on local.

This issue needs to be discussed because it is real, Romney is not a Conservative who believes in socialized medicine.

Pray for America

With Mittwit we are heading down the path of destruction of the Party

True, but it only gets worse. The ultimate result is the destruction of the United States as a Constitutional Republic and the irreversible birthing of a North American totalitarian tyranny - either Marxist or Islamist. It only remains which ultimately and bloodily will prevail in enslaving us.

Great analysis, as usual, bray!

-- As we grow larger with more TPartiers elected we will regain control over the RINO's in the next cycle, or the one after that but withholding a vote for our nominee this time is a vote for Obama. --

Voting for a liberal Republican is a signal to the politicians and their handmaidens that it is safe, or even desirable, for the GOP to go further to the left.

And, if that is where the majority of the public wants to go, there is nothing you or I can do about it, in a system that has near-universal suffrage and a majority of voters looking to the government for handouts and solutions.

If you want to help Newt out, in addition to following him on FaceBook and/or FR, get yourself and others on Twitter. On Twitter follow @newtgingrich and @newt2012hq. Search for hash tag #withnewt and follow people who tweet to that hash tag. You will be off and running. Share the information you get from FR on Twitter and with your FB friends, vice versa. One benefit of getting on Twitter is that FReepers can share their knowledge with many more people with a simple click of the mouse which retweets info to your followers. The other benefit is that it is very easy to Tweet comments to media. I am #withNewt for the next 8 1/2 years!!

It shouldn’t need explanation.

A liberal making the illogical argument for gun control, using gun death statistics, while ignoring his own beloved abortion numbers.

Glad to see your post.

So many on FR are super negative on FB etc. because people like Zucky are part of the Baraqqi Coalition.

We can’t afford to ignore this social media stuff. Nobody under 30 reads newspapers or watches network news on tv. I always ask them, well Palin was on FB years ago, is she a Baraqqi?
