I may get beat up for this comment, but that was a very sad news conference sounding very petty and whiny. I have been saying this for weeks, Newt was on top when he was focusing his broadsides on the Obama administration and the liberal news media. He has aloud Romney to get into his head, forcing him to focus his sights on Romney and only Romney. It was necessary for Newt to get some shots in at the liar obamney, the heck with political correctness crap from the media. Newt said obamney was a liar, same as huckabee has said. Newt said obamney fired his debate coach, that needed to be said. The minimum wage index from obamney and the poor people safety net also. I dont understand people wanting Newt to stand up on a podium after being negatively attacked with $18M ads and be mr. nice guy.

What Newt needs to understand is that, while he is pissed at Romney (and many of us here), most are not, BUT there are a TON of Americans who viscerally hate Obama. He needs to tap into that again. They want to vote for a guy that wants to take it to Obama. Not a guy that wants to in-fight with someone in their party that they aren't all hopped up about. At this moment in time Obama is the one destroying their country and lives, Romney is not...

IMO, that presser was a disaster. He gave fodder to the press and meat for Romney. If he is not careful he runs the risk of appearing to be the guy that is in it, not to right the course of America, but the guy that has a personal vendetta against Romney and is hanging around to damage him.

He is allowing Romney to live in his head rent free. Newt, STOP IT!!!!!

Hopefully, the average voter wasn't tuned in and it won't matter much.

I agree. He didn’t look good at all. The best course for Newt is to slam zer0 repeatedly, and show that he’s the best at it. In that speech tonight whem he went after the zero admin on they’re blatant anti-religious freedom crusade, he was brilliant. He needs to focus on that and not even mention the word “romney”.

I didn’t find the presser to be whiney. Actually, I thought it was a good alternative to a speech. But that’s just me.

In the beginning, Newt was running a clean campaign. IMO, Mitt took control and forced him into defense mode. I guess that is a good political strategy on Mitt’s part. I hope Newt can get back to his message.

Conversely, although a lot of valuable time is being wasted, shooting down Mitt..silence doesn’t seem to be very effective either. As I recall..GWB tried to take the high road and we all know how that worked out.

The media has defined Newt as “sore loser guy”. I don’t agree. He has to beat Mitt before he can beat O.

Newt demonstrated he could go one on one with the Jon Stewart media while letting the GOP-Proud establishment know he was not going to be bullied.

Then he gave a homework assignment to the voters to find out what the 1% has to say about the difference in Obama and Romney. I seriously doubt many Americans have ever heard of $0r0$ and his function in funding liberal policies and politicians.

The Jon Stewart media is NOT going to be throwing the ‘bain-washed’ Romney a life vest when the sharks of the liberal party start cleaning his 1% clock.

He plans to show the difference and contrast between him and romney in a factual way... without resorting to negative attacks, unless necessary. He will not unilaterally disarm. And then making the same contrast between himself and Obama. Soros’ endorsement of Willard Your Worst Nightmare plays into that nicely.

He plans to do both, and needs to do both simultaneously. Willard has been disguising who and what he really is. Willard isn’t in Newt’s head, you heard some jackwagon reporter say that, so mimicking the press talking points, in a very genuine and concerned way, of course.

I don't see the news conference as sad and whiny. I watched it 2 times after the people on Fox were very unfair. It was not at all. Biggest point he hit Romney as being dishonest so that will carry on. Newt has to take any opportunity that he can because he has everyone in the media against him. He is just an authentic person, gusty and bold ideas driven. He has been hit very hard and he is still standing. I have to respect that vs. pulling him apart.

I agree with you, I wish Newt would refocus on Obama. When Newt’s conference came on, someone in our group said “how long before he starts talking about the poor people comment by Romney”. . .Sure enough, when he did, several people groaned and said it made Newt look very petty because Romney had already explained that multiple times. Too bad Newt didn’t mention the false employment numbers being spewed by Obama and his news organization!
