Newt Gingrich will stay in the Republican presidential nomination contest despite an expected loss to Mitt Romney in Saturdays Nevada caucuses, the former speaker told The Washington Times late Saturday afternoon.
We had excellent fundraising meetings and calls yesterday, Mr. Gingrich said. Super Tuesday and beyond look good.
The Georgia native thus dispelled rumors circulating in the press that his campaign had scheduled a press conference for late Saturday, after the results were in from the Nevada caucuses.
We will probably be a solid second here with [Rick] Santorum in last place, Mr. Gingrich said, while acknowledging indirectly that attracting donors and voters in sufficient force to overtake Mr. Romney will be a challenge in the coming weeks.

Nevada had a pretty high Ron Paul vote in 2008,
but he doesn’t seem to be getting that kind of numbers tonight.
That's correct. The debate coach was getting attention by the press and credit for Romney's good performance in the two FL debates. That ticked the campaign off, they told the guy to maintain a low profile but when the press continued to run stories about him, he was fired with the explanation that the good performance was all Mitten's doing.
Yeppers, fired him after 2 days (the guy took attention away from Romney)
I support and defend Newt, Santorum, Romney. I do not like the negative crap and IMHO Newt’s appearance tonight was petty. Even the fact he gave a news conference instead of a positive speech to supporters, was a mistake.
Best example: Romney underperformed tonight and Newt took a district Romney won last time. Instead of pointing that out, Newt says he knew he’d lose because “There are a lot of Mormons here”. That was just dumb.
Not exactly a full throated Rebel Yell from a red blooded, meat eating, conservative warrior.
It makes me think more of the Princess and the pea.
That is why I picked Newt. He is a fighter. We can have nothing less than that in the midst of all the power lined up against conservatives. He is the only one who calls Obama a radical and mentions Saul Alinsky. The only one.
Wow. He really does like to fire people, doesn’t he?
Sounds like a fickle SOB, too.
“Well it was just reported Newt would go positive”
Who reported?
I wonder which Romney source that was.
Link?
I do NOW! I get the cults confused. Because I tend to avoid them..
I hope this ends up biting him in the arse!
See my new tagline.
LOL, Ron Paul won Esmeraldo County, total population 971
;>)..... That’s me. ;>)

Clark co/Vegas digging up votes to make sure Romney gets his “decisive victory,” ....which, at this point, he doesn’t have with 43% reporting.
I used to confuse the “Moonies” with Hare Krishnas.
Besides obama, BESIDES obama’S 1 BIL, Newt laid out exactly what is arrayed against him and his supporters: the media, the establishment, a lying candidate who can say anything he wants about Newt and no one will holler, an opponent’s spending advantage of 5-1 (and I think it was more) - surrogates who will lie - a conservative media who will lie - biased cable news shows who will feature and cover for Willard Your Worst Nightmare - even Hannity had Trump on for 1/2 hour - basically a 30-min commercial about his endorsement for willard. Only Greta remains. And Mark Levin who is nervewrackingly fair, but supports Sanctimonium.
As far as Alinsky, you are absolutely right. Do you know how many people in my little universe have asked me about Alinsky since Newt has brought him up a couple times. There were a couple whitewashing pro-alinsky media articles, but that name is out there finally... understanding alinsky was one of the major ways I was able to sort out what goes on in the media and the dems’ attacks.
