But if Newt goes third-party, so does Paul, to independent or
green.
If zero has 40% locked up, or even 35% there is no way Newt, Mittens or Paul can get a 36%. But like I said, if we’re going to lose to zero, may as well have fun doing it.

Your scenario won't work. Palin as the #2? Been there. Why would she want to be #2 on any ticket again, when should could have been the presumptive #1?
Had she made her 'no' known earlier, maybe more/better conservative candidates would have jumped in to the race. Many waited to see what she was going to do. She delayed and delayed and delayed.
