The former Pennsylvania senator is more than 30 signatures short of the 500 needed in the 7th Congressional district..”
I can understand missing a filing or something like that, but why cut the number so close when it is such a small number? Man, 500 is not much...IN folks must not like Rick too much.
Santorum collected plenty of signatures from across Indiana, but fell just shy in one congressional district - he had 800 signatures from Marion County, but Marion is split between two districts, and not enough of the 800 were from the 7th district.
“had not submitted 500 valid signatures.”
Who decides if the 30, or so, signatures are valid?
This is done a lot to 3rd party candidates by the major parties, and I wonder if something bogus was determined on 30 of Santorum’s signatures.
Have you looked at his polling? He is spoiling for romney.

When the gop is in control of redistricting, we will often put all the blacks in one district so while the democrats win that one, they lose almost all the rest.
I don’t know the IN-7 district, but if it includes Gary Indiana, that could be one scary district to try to collect signatures.
Kind of like they don't like Newt much in MO, where he won't be on the ballot.
