I guess they did not get the memo.
Tourists should stay out of muslim countries period.
Maybe they just returned from a vacation hike on the Iraq/Iran border and were uninformed. Probably, they wanted to see the “arab spring” and thought it was somewhere out in the Sinai desert. Unfortunately for them, they will probably get first-hand experience with our moozlum “friends”. “Hey, is that an obelisk or are you just happy to see me?”
What the Hell are two American tourists doing in Egypt.
Are they terminally stupid?
and muslim barbarians should be outlawed in ours!
“The two tourists were among a party of five travelling from Saint Catherine’s monastery in central Sinai to the resort town of Sharm el-Sheikh when a vehicle carrying men armed with machineguns stopped their small bus, the sources said.
The gunmen first took all the tourists’ money and valuables and then, as an apparent afterthought, grabbed the two women, forced them into their vehicle and fled into the mountains, the security officials said.”

Maybe this is just their way of thanking the US and Obama for the Arab Spring.
Yes - probably leftist Rachel Corey (sp?) types that can't belief the scum they support will do them harm.
Did you see the breaking news on the Q&R thread? Sarris candy is burning! Looks very bad.
I was at St Catherine’s back in November (before the Muslim Brotherhood’s take-over). It’s a popular stop on all the Holy Land Tours.
You will recall that the Bible tells of Moses’ first trip into the desert after he kills the Egyptian guard that was mistreating one of the Israelite slaves. Moses fled into the desert (into the Sinai) and ended up living and working for Jethro tending sheep, eventually marrying Jethro’s daughter. St Catherine’s is built in that place where Jethro’s well was. It is the place where Moses saw the burning bush and God spoke to him telling him to go back to Egypt and bring His people out. During the exodus, Moses brought the Israelite to this place and that is where they waited for him while he climbed Mt Sinai (where he received the ten commandments from God).
So you can see why this is a very important place historically. Please be so kind as to not mock the fact that people still yearn to go there. It will be very sad to see this place over-run by Muslims who will destroy the Monastery (church). I am glad that I got to see it but sad that it is not now safe for Christians to go there!
I didn’t see that! Oh, no!
Tourists and all Americans need to get out of Egypt,
They shouldn’t need to be told this. Common sense should direct them.
Tourism is a major commercial industry in Egypt. Imagine all those tourists not going to the Great Pyramid nor to see the Sphinx. Imagine Cruise Ships not pulling into the Egyptian ports with all those passengers with their Euros.
The Egyptians need to go get those Tourists back in a hurry otherwise they will find themselves in the same plight as the so-called Palestinians. I.E. going broke fast.
Ahhhh, that wonderful Arab Spring has sprung to life.
....and so it begins....just like the late 70s in Lebanon...
When the Israeli-Iran war breaks out, all hell is going to break loose and tourists will be in deep trouble.
I have many friends from Egypt, and have always wanted to travel there.
I should have gone 5 years ago, but now I fear it is too late.
