PP just does breast exams. Breast exams are not that important in the age group of women who need real screening. They need mammograms which PP does not do. Self breast exams are much better than once a year exam by anyone including a physician. I know this cause I am a physician. Unless the woman is mentally challenged someway they always find the lump first. PP is not needed in the breast cancer fight. Komen would be much better off giving grants for mobile mammography to areas where it is needed. Not some dang PP clinic.
Breast Cancer Prevention Institute
Their head is:
Angela Lanfranchi, MD, FACS, [Breast Cancer Surgeon] Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Piscataway, NJ.
They also have a number of other MD's on the board.
But they also Joel Brind, PhD in Biology and Endocrinology.
There are not too many folks with that speciality (Endocrinology) and that is a necessary field to be an expert in to study Breast Cancer.
You might want someone in your medical office to download or look at:
Breast Cancer: Risks and Prevention (4th Edition) by this organization. They are very leading edge in terms of research in this field (especially in terms of prevention).
