‘No Fifth Amendment Theater’ in tomorrow’s Holder hearing(gunwalker) [LIVE THREAD]
Gun Rights Examiner ^ | 1 February, 2012 | David Codrea

“There will be no Fifth Amendment Theater tomorrow of the Phoenix US Attorneys being forced to say their ‘I-don't-wannas’ in front of the cameras,” Mike Vanderboegh of Sipsey Street Irregulars files in an exclusive report today from Washington, DC.

There will be only one panel of one -- Eric Holder. This is viewed by many who have been following the investigation as a serious mistake. Said one, "More simple browbeating of Eric Eric Holder without dramatic new evidence to impeach his story is going to look petty, mean and impotent.

Perhaps. After all, House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Darrell Issa has pledged “We are still going to bring him forward” in response to Chief of the Criminal Division in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Arizona Patrick Cunningham’s decision to invoke his right not to self-incriminate after being subpoenaed to testify. And Issa has further demanded Justice stop blocking testimony from Cunningham underling Michael Morrissey. Advertisement

Compound this with a return shot from Committee Democrats attempting to absolve their administration allies, an outraged response from Sen. Chuck Grassley of the Senate Judiciary Committee, and yesterday’s stunning, knives-are-out ultimatum by Issa to charge stonewalling Attorney General Eric Holder with contempt of Congress, and it would appear an opportunity to show the American people an ongoing cover-up happening before their eyes may be lost.

And perhaps not. Again, per Vanderboegh:

Public Officials (answering official-duties questions) should not be allowed 5th amend. rights in court.

Hearing is over, some repubs tried to get answers, but Holder did his usual “I think it might have been blah, blah, blah.” Members were limited by the 5 minute rule, so just when they were starting to get somewhere, time would run out. Dems did their usual “Bush’s fault etc., etc.” Holder still stonewalling on documents. Hopefully, Issa will issue a contempt citation for non-production.

Trying to catch up.

. . . . Save yourself some work; # 260 , # 261 , 262 says it all.

Maybe, but for sure he will get really, really, really, really mad this time.

We didn’t learn a thing when Reno accepted full responsibility for everything, but could not comment on open cases. She got away with it, and the Pubbies got really mad.

When I was a child my dad taught me, “Why climb a tree to tell a lie when you can stand on the ground and tell the truth”. It is clear to me that WithHolder was never taught a similar life-lesson.

“Yes, Thank you. I was typing in haste.”

I do it too, but usually it’s a brain freeze! lolol

Oh well, getting old beats the alternative.
