A Fla.acquaintance of mine who is one of the Tea Party founders and speaks all over the country, is a regular on TV, etc....said that though she has been asked repeatedly to support a candidate, she is not committing and will remain neutral.
Therein lies the problem right now.
The Tea Partiers are all over the place.
I wrote back to her and basically told her what I thought of her useless four paragraph mass email on why she has chosen to sit this one out.
Safe move for her...but lack of courage and wasted words.
This is correct from my experience. Went to a Tea Party meeting last night and although this is supposed to be the activist branch, able to endorse candidates, the only candidates they were promoting were local and state.
The guy across the table from me was for Romney and there was no talking him out of it. At least one of the leaders was for Santorum, as was a friend who was there. Another member of the leadership committee was for Gingrich.
They did not endorse anyone for president or even take a vote on it, on the night before this crucial election.
As a freeper said recently, maybe it IS time for the Tea Party to become a real party. What is the good of them if they’re not taking sides? Same with Tea Party Express.
