This is correct from my experience. Went to a Tea Party meeting last night and although this is supposed to be the activist branch, able to endorse candidates, the only candidates they were promoting were local and state.

The guy across the table from me was for Romney and there was no talking him out of it. At least one of the leaders was for Santorum, as was a friend who was there. Another member of the leadership committee was for Gingrich.

They did not endorse anyone for president or even take a vote on it, on the night before this crucial election.

As a freeper said recently, maybe it IS time for the Tea Party to become a real party. What is the good of them if they’re not taking sides? Same with Tea Party Express.

If the currently divided Tea Party can’t get their act together and realize that they can have alot of influence on picking the nominee if they stop supporting candidates who can’t win or liberal ones who model Obama..then they will get what they deserve and become obscure.
