Kirk fell off a cliff and his last words were “It was fun” (or something like that).
The guy saved the Federation more times than I can count: at least give him a suitably epic death!

His "first" death, when he died saving the
Enterprise B was far better, IMHO.
Kind of like Chewie's death in the Star Wars novels. He died saving the life of Anakin Solo, Han and Leia's youngest son, thus fulfilling the life debt he had to Han and his family.

I always thought his “death” at the BEGINNING of Generations was more Kirk-like — doing something he shouldn’t be doing to save the Enterprise one last time.
