Maybe Newt should step aside and support Santorum, the most conservative candidate still in the race. Santorum is good on the issues, including immigration and has none of Newt’s baggage.

He also is dull boring totally lacking in charisma and a host of other characteristics that make him unqualified to be President.

In a way I'd almost agree with that. But it's too late now. Had the Santorum we saw in the last 3 debates shown up before Iowa, then he might be a player and the best option to go with (even though he is also an imperfect conservative). Now, however, it's just water under the bridge. Santorum has no chance.

The only thing Santorum has in his favor is less baggage though he does have some here and there.

His actual voting record is slightly less conservative than Newt's if you look it up.

I mentioned the ACU ratings months ago and Rick folks parse that by saying "well he was in PA and had to be more moderate"

...same argument Romney is now using..."he was in Massacusetts..he had to"

I like Rick...were the poll positions reversed and he the main challenger to Mitt, I'd want Newt to drop out

Santorum may have a future...he is young.

Fine. I like Santorum and I especially enjoyed his last two debate performances. I was merely responding to FL and the map and with Newt winning SC, it seemed to be in his favor even more so than Santorum’s. Like you and other conservatives, I want conservatism to win. :)
