Dixie Strategies/The News-Press/First Coast's new poll has almost 2,600 likely voters. Gingrich is up by .38%. He leads Romney 35.46% to 35.08%. Santorum is in third with around 9%.
Almost 2,600 likely voters makes this a gigantic poll and super accurate as well.
If you want to find their page, Google "Exclusive Florida GOP Primary poll shows Gingrich Romney neck and neck"
You have argued inversely to the truth. A vote for anyone but Paul is a vote for Obama.
“In fact, Paul has been lying about being a Republican for decades. He has acknowledged being a stealth Democrat. Paul is a liberal democrat.”
This is very easy to believe. It’s the only thing so far that adequately explains the many oddities of Ron Paul.
I hope you’re right, but I think some of the more liberal states like Maine will go for the RINO.
It is a good choice. Add "intimidation" and "extortion" and you have summed up the relationship of government to the people.
I am not sure what it says about their loyalties, but they are the only ones calling the race in Florida as close. Everyone else has Mitt up by at least 6 to 9 points. These guys have it pretty much statistically dead even.
Considering they are Republicans, and they want to gain credibility with their polling and consulting, I trust them more then i do all these leftists agendized polling companies.
The below part is from their site. it gives us an idea of there recent work. Problem is they don't have a long track record, but no one began a business with a track record, they need to build one. So as I said, they cannot afford to fail.
Dixie Strategies state-of-the-art dialing system can provide a wide variety of automated calling services. Dixie Strategies has provided polling services for many well-known elected officials and candidates, including: Speaker Daniel Webster, Rep. Kurt Kelly. Rep. Charles Van Zant, Col. Allen West, and many more. Automated calls are also an affordable way to announce events, endorsements and to turn out voters.
From all I learned about these guys and their consultant firm, I like the poll numbers they released, and feel very confident in Newts chance to win Florida. If Newt wins, where all the other pollsters show him losing, these guys could rake in the business from Republicans running for office all over the country.
Never heard of this group before, and their poll is either out of date or an outlier. The last 6-7 polls have Romney up +8 on average. And a new Mason/Dixon poll out late tonite has Romney up 11.
The tide has turned away from Newt in Florida this week. It could still swing back. But 8 points is a lot ot makup in 2 days.
To answer you question, leading up to SC, all the polls had Newt winning by 7-10 points. Polling has gotten pretty accurate the past few years.
RCP has Romney +8 and trending up. And it doesn’t factor in the new Mason Dixon poll which has Romney +11.
I think a lot of folks here on FR are grasping at straw polls they want to believe. Everyone new Newt was going to win SC. And now everyone knows Romney is going to win Florida.
But Newt is in for the long run. I hope the rumors I hear about him running out of campaign cash aren’t true. Santorum is fading and has more pressing family issues. The February contests are favorable to Romney.
Newt would make a good president. We will see what happens.
Thanks for reviewing this poll. We hear from our FL FReepers on the ground and we get mixed messages, depending on their locations. Romney is spreading a lot of money and 24/7 attack ads against Newt. He’s concentrating on senior citizens and Latinos, with the worst and most vile ads. The guy is a slimebag as bad as the democrats but he won’t dare to call obama “a socialist.”
Newt would win this, but for Santorum, but it is what it is; a split vote.
There’s still time and with prayers and good fortune, Newt Gingrich can pull off a win!
Sarah Palin said VOTE NEWT!
Herman Cain endorsed Newt Gingrich!
PAY ATTENTION FLORIDA VOTERS!
Fortunately, she said exactly that!
Just like she said regarding South Carolina, she said “Rage against the machine, vote for Newt Gingrich.”
Article on FR somewhere.
But as long as he’s running as a conservative on domestic policies, I’ll support him on those.
