Marco Rubio Says Some Conservatives Harsh and Intolerable On Immigration By Liz Goodwin | The Ticket
"For those of us who come from the conservative movement, we must admit that there are those among us who have used rhetoric that is harsh and intolerable, inexcusable," Rubio said at a conference for the conservative Hispanic Leadership Network. "We must admit, myself included, that sometimes we've been too slow in condemning that rhetoric."
Rubio, a Republican senator to Florida who is often floated as a potential vice presidential nominee for the party in 2012, was interrupted by two protesters raising awareness about the Dream Act, which would provide legal status for illegal immigrants who were brought to the country as children and attend college or serve in the military. "Why don't you support undocumented immigrants? Please help us," one young man yelled, as members of the crowd booed. Rubio shouted from the podium that he wanted the two young men to be able to stay and hear him out, as security at the event quickly escorted them away.
"These young people are very brave to be here today," he said. "They had the bravery and the courage to raise their voices."
Rubio has said he will stay neutral during the primary, though he intervened on Mitt Romney's behalf when Newt Gingrich ran radio ads calling Romney "anti-immigrant." Rubio said the ads were inflammatory, and the Gingrich campaign quickly announced it would pull them.
Rubio didn't specify which conservatives he thought were using harsh immigration rhetoric in his speech. In a Republican presidential debate in October in Las Vegas, Rick Perry and Romney used the word "illegals" 10 times to refer to illegal immigrants, which is considered a dehumanizing term by immigration advocates.

“This guys is really starting to annoy the crap out of me.”
Me too...and I am being kind.
The other problem is that Senators are elected in statewide races which gives the urban liberal morons a vote. The Congressional races are settled in many rural districts.
“The Congressional races are settled in many rural districts.”
That’s a good point, but the representatives are roughly in proportion to the population; in NJ our rural districts are huge (and often Republican) but they can be offset with a few major urban toilets.
When white children are pounded from inception, by the schools and t.v., that their ancestors are basically the human equivalent of evil then there’s going to be some blow-back. Lies are still lies.
Good points made in your post #59.
anyone know right off hand when his parents became naturalized citizens? before he was born or after? everyone keeps throwing his name around as VP and I was just curious. Although his behavior towards Newt recently ticked me off. I’d prefer West as a VP choice. We might even get some of the blacks to vote for Newt/West instead of automatically voting for bambi. That aside . . . I think West is an excellent choice even IF he was a purple polka dotted dinosaur. Too many people today vote for the package, youth & appearance, they don’t understand this ain’t American Idol.
just looked it up. Born in ‘71 and parents didn’t become citizens until ‘75. Same thing with Jindal but didn’t look up the dates.
Not this sh*t again. NO SHAMNESTY, Rubio. Rubio’s RACISM is showing.
Thats a good point, but the representatives are roughly in proportion to the population; in NJ our rural districts are huge (and often Republican) but they can be offset with a few major urban toilets.
This is true of most states. Congress gets a few rural (usually more conservative) representatives. With the state wide election of Senators, you usually end up with liberals elected primarily by the cities.
The problem with the “whites are evil” agenda (along with the “homosexuals are better people” agenda) is that the enemies of Western Civilization won the battles for schools just as American students stopped learning anything anyway.
every time it goes like this....
And now look at Rubio...he's identity first of course
and he is a very Euro DNA Cuban like 99.9% of the pre Mariel Cubans here are.
Folks who don't keep up don;t realize that Cuba had the most intact European culture/demographic/highest percentage in Latin America except Argentina.
And now they are all here. White Cuba is basically now mostly in the USA and Cuba is a mulatto nation governed by am elite and aging white dictatorial apparatus.
Rubio a minority my arse.
I think Allen West may be the first real deal in a long line of disappointments
Rubio does not qualify IAW natural born citizen requirements
For that matter Romney does not qualify IAW natural born citizen requirements.
Rubio’s bad on immigration, but no worse than Newt.
Which brings me to Shelly Adelson, the casino magnate whose empire is based in Nevada. With his multiple $5M donations, he’s paid more than anyone else we know to put Newt in, and keep him in, the primary game. Could the protection of cheap illegal labor be a motivating factor in his support—and Newt’s ‘humanitarian’ position?
Absofreakinlootly. Plus those who spout the nonsense that Hispanic and or Latino isn’t real. OR Cubans and Mexican are really adversaries.
Somebody forgot to tell the Hispanic Leadership Network or the Hispanic Caucus!
As for Allen West? Hmm, maybe but color me skeptical. Hard to see how that is true being a member of the Black Caucus?’conservative’ or not. While I agree with some of his stated positions when push come to shove he is not trying to disband the Black Caucus he is trying to ‘change’ it. IOW he is inferring that the purpose of the caucus race based politics is OK.
You’re right, and even the so called conservatives often don’t.
Nothing makes sense to me anymore. We live in Bizarro World.

Pandering is for pricks.
This is why we need to donate to Team America PAC. This is the only immigration organization that actually gives money to pro-borders candidates. They helped Lou Barletta, Steve King and Allen West win their elections. Team America Pac was started by Tom Tancredo who was the leader of the pro-borders, pro-sovereignty caucus that stopped amnesty. We really need to help them out because all of the open borders supporters have BILLIONS OF DOLLARS at their disposal. If you have ever wondered why there are illegal alien advocate groups every where you look, their enormous funding is the reason, which of course means lots of tax money from you and I, La Raza gets millions of dollars from the taxpayers.
