You guys didn’t really read all of my response to that video, did you? If you did, then you seem to be doing the very type of thing you accuse others of...and if you didn’t, then please do so before you make these statements and accusations.
I clearly stated I did not agree with the methods taught in that video and in the past have, and currently do teach perspective and actual LDS missionaries differently.
But, despite the fact I disagree with his methods...he never told anyone to lie or decieve at all...he taught to reditrect people towards the message they are sent to give. I do not agree with it...because, as I stated, it can easily put people off, and it gives fuel to people who look for any reason to condemn the church. He taught them to answer the question with another question that would redirect them to what they want to teach.
That is a standard teaching and marketing practice...as I said, one I do not agree with.
I hope you both have a great evening, and a peaceful and spirit filled Sunday.
...you have to learn to be Gods yourselves, and to be kings and priests to God, the same as all Gods have done before you, - namely, by going from one small degree to another... (Journal of Discourses Vol. 6 Page 4, 1844. Joseph Smith)In the very beginning the Bible shows there is a plurality of Gods beyond the power of refutation. It is a great subject I am dwelling on. The word Eloheim ought to be in the plural all the way through--Gods. The heads of the Gods appointed ONE God for us... (Joseph Smith, Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p. 372)
I will go back to the beginning, before the world was, to show what kind of a being God is. What sort of a being was God in the beginning? Open your ears and hear, all ye ends of the earth; for I am going to prove it to you by the Bible, and to tell you the designs of God in relation to the human race, and why he interferes with the affairs of man. God himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted Man, and sits enthroned in yonder heavens. That is the great secret. (Joseph Smith, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 6, p. 3, 1844)
Do you, Jeff, really believe those teachings from your founding 'prophet' agree with what the entire Bible teaches? If you agree with that blasphemy from Smith then you need to ask yourself why you would claim to be a Christian, because such blasphemies are very uncomfortable for a Christian with God's Spirit in their human spirit, the earnest of their inheritance.
So, Jeff, you train/"teach"...what?
Lds high school students via "seminary" (prospective) -- and train Lds missionaries in your regional area, eh?
Well, note the last row in the chart below re: the 60-year Mormon missionary training legacy re: their "upstanding" regard for Christians and Christian churches!
Mitt Romney, Dec, 2007, speaking @ the George Bush Presidential Library: "I believe in my Mormon faith and I endeavor to live by it. My faith is the faith of my fathers I will be true to them and to my beliefs."
Snapshot of Joseph Smiths Slanderous Invectives vs. Christian Sects |
Mormon Source[Note: Most of these are Mormon scriptures'. In fact, First three rows below are Lds 'scripture' & therefore cannot be rug-swept any more than a Jew might try to take three commandments off of the very tablets of stone Moses brought down from the mountain] |
...which of all the sects was right must join NONE of them, for they were ALL WRONG those professors were ALL CORRUPT | Joseph Smith History vv. 18-19. Lds "scripture" Pearl of Great Price |
...which of all the sects was right ALL their CREEDS were an ABOMINATION in his sight they teach for doctrines the commandments of MEN | Joseph Smith History vv. 18-19. Lds "scripture" Pearl of Great Price |
Mormon church the only Christ-sanctioned church on earth: the foundation of this [Mormon] church the ONLY true and living church on the face of the whole earth [Obvious scorched earth implication: All other churches are false and dead] | Lds scripture Doctrines & Covenants 1:30 |
Direct question asked of Joseph Smith: 'Will everybody be damned, but Mormons?" Answer from Lds "prophet" Joseph Smith: 'Yes, and a great portion of them, unless they repent, and work righteousness." | Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p. 119 [Not scripture but still publicly spoken by the Mormon living prophet and published by a later Mormon living prophet, Joseph Fielding Smith via a publisher owned by the Mormon church Deseret News Press, 1938] |
In 1952 the first official proselyting plan was sent to missionaries throughout the world It included seven missionary discussions that emphasized [four topics, one of them being] THE APOSTASY and Restoration [This makes it almost 60 years that Mormon church missionaries, now numbering 52,000, have formally emphasized in its training & door to door saturation a priority in bashing the worldwide Christian church as apostates (100% AWOL)] | Our Heritage: A Brief History of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints p. 116, 1996 |
Christians -- Protestants, Orthodox and Catholics everywhere...doesn't it just make you want to "rush out" and inspire you to vote for somebody who treats you one way to your face, but firmly adheres to the above as their "bottom-line" belief system? /sarc
And the word 'trinity' is not in the Bible.
And now is YOUR chance to 'give the message':
(insert the MORMON 'message' here...)
Like those CONDEMNERS in post 82?
Do YOU agree with the statements shown there; or will you answer a question I should have asked?
That message is simply that they are to inform Christians that their faith is false and the only way to salvation is through baptism and confirmation into the mormon sect.
Please inform us if you can what is NOT deceitful about this message?
This is a message that you yourself believe or you could not honestly hold a temple recommend, as shown in these questions that must be satisfactorily answered in order to be allowed into a mormon temple:
See question #7. The mormon church was founded on the premise that ALL Christian faiths are false and "abominable" and that "teaching and practice" has never changed.
Christian teachings, including the Trinity, and belief in only ONE God are the "teachings or practices that are contrary to or oppose those accepted by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints."
The simple message we bring to all Christians doesn't need to include a lot of mormon doctrine, but can be winnowed down to this: "52,000 mormon missionaries go out every single day with the message, million-dollar PR campaigns on TV, radio and the internet bombard people with the message, millions of books and pamphlets smear the Christian faith with the message that Salvation (what mormonism labels as exaltation) can only be acquired through becoming a "worthy" member of the mormon church.
So, Jeff is this "the message" that you taught in the MTC? Among the Inmans we number returned missionaries...RMs, is THIS the message you were taught at the MTC? This IS the message that Mitt Romney was taught.
