President Obama tells a college audience that people don't get rich on their own. Obama's point that without government and paying your fair share, ultimately the successful wouldn't be able to get where they are.
"We do not begrudge wealth in this country. I want everybody here to do well. We aspire to financial success, but we also understand that we're not successful just by ourselves," President Obama said at a campaign event in Ann Arbor, Michigan on Friday morning.
"We're successful because somebody started the University of Michigan. We're successful because somebody made an investment in all the federal research labs that created the internet. We're successful because we have an outstanding military that costs money. We're successful because somebody built roads and bridges. And laid broadband lines and these things didn't just happen on their own. And if we all understand that we've got to pay for this stuff, it makes sense for those of us who've done best to do our fair share and to try to pass off that bill on to somebody else, that's not right. That's not who we are," he said.

It's not new. He swiped this concept from Elizabeth Warren, the Dem hag who's running against Scott Brown in MA.
She has been spouting these same lines for a few months now.
I agree, We needed it and it worked out pretty well, with the exception of the Controlling Authority by the Feds, but the way it was done is how we screw ourselves, by disregarding the Chains of the Constitution and using trickery and fraud to disobey the Constitution, in the end we will all lose, because this behavior perpetuates that behavior.
I don’t recall the government being mentioned in the MicroSoft movie. Oh wait, they were in the garage and the door was open. You could see the street he lived on.
He left out man’s greatest inventions; the on-off switch, and the mute button.
It is so refreshing to have a President that has such a strong faith for the people, their ability and the society as a whole. Oh wait, was that not what he was saying?
In a division of labor and free society, one person's gain is not only not other people's loss but is other people's gain. Both in their origin and in their use, great fortunes are source of gains to everyone who participates in the economic system.
But such fortunes originate in innovations that result in the earning of a high rate of profit on capital, almost all of which is constantly reinvested, so that the high rate of profit rapidly compounds. The fortunes emerge as the sum of the reinvestment of these compound profits over a period of many years.
didn’t this POS have Steve Jobs wife at his propaganda rally on Tuesday night???
Our real problem with the highway system today is due to waste, fraud, stupidity, etc. After all we shouldn’t be funding city transportation projects, rain gardens and museums out of highway funds. As far as I’m concerned the highway funds should be strictly restricted to upkeep on interstates and related bridges and nothing else.
I’m even OK with letting some roads here in Michigan return to dirt if they have minimal traffic. I live on a dirt street that hasn’t seen a snow plow for years and I’m just fine.
The idiots brain cells are dieing off faster than expected.
You can stuff your roads, infra structure and everything else. I take my FREEDOM.
You be correct and we agree, now if only we could knock some sense into the Ruling Class, or better yet FIRE THEM ALL.
Yes she did say this. (Elizabeth Warren) There are some really loony things she said, that are available to listen to, stunning when you hear them.
And she is the one Obama wanted to put in charge of regulating banks and other financial entities.
I'm too lazy to search and link them.
Only a lousy POS confiscates wealth and then tells kids the victims were making an “investment”. What complete and utter garbage!
He remains very obdurate, even after 3 years in office.
“obdurate”
Darn, I thought I was Menza qualified until you wrote that.
After looking it up you are Darn sure right!
Thanks!
Central planning 101
Public-Private partnership where the government is the silent but controlling partner.
Obama wants to help us all the way to the poor house.
Lord protect me from those who wish to do me good.
