What I found most disturbing is Rush’s contention that at the end of the day the party will coalesce around the nominee. I’m not so sure that will happen. I can easily see grass roots voting the heck out of the bottom of the ticket to try and get back control of Congress and skipping the top two boxes.

I hope so. That’s been my contention all along. Change comes when conservatives are elected to the the House and Senate. We’ve had 20 years of conservative talk radio, Fox News, etc. and all we got was Clinton, compassionate conservative Bush and now Obama. Our conservatives in the media have sold alot of books and stuff. We need to be working on the grassroots level to make real change.
If the nominee is Romney, it will mean that the party has left me, and I won't be among those doing the coalescing!
