Thanks for the post...Willard doesn't have half the intellectual honesty of Newt. Therefore, he'll only focus on any negatives of the investigation and not the complete truth. Willard indeed is a liar and a cheat and will say and do anything depending on the way the wind blows.

What “really” happened is that he was threatened with having his affair exposed if he fought these charges.

It’s called “blackmail” and he should have had the courage to file charges.
