There are “patriotic” shades of blue?

Where it's so shiny (reminds me of those cheap -- but bright -- sateen grammar school dance recital costumes), it's hard to tell, but it looks like a shade of blue an Israeli teacher of mine once pointed out as the shade Arabs favor to repel evil spirits . . . probably not, though, since it doesn't seem to be working! ;-)

I'm not a fashion expert but that dress doesn't seem to be appropriate for the occasion.

She's better suited to standing on the corner of a used car lot that's advertising a zero down payment, sign and drive car sale.......

Line from the article “we’re dying to see a shot of her shoes!” *huge eye roll*

These pictures do not adequately reflect the fabric she is wearing — a shiny satin, it appeared. It did not look appropriate for a solemn occasion such as the SOTU. None of the other ladies were dressed in shiny fabrics. I don’t mind the color, or the style. But, the fabric and the sparkles looked like the dress belonged in a cocktail lounge. At least her shoulders were covered.

Another Barbara Tfank dress - she wore it to meet Kate Middleton. Quite the interesting comments in the article as to Michelle’s dress vs. how much better the Duchess looked in a much less costly dress. Middleton’s dress was 175 pounds and Mrs. Odrama’s dress 1400 pounds. Quite the difference!

Thank you for posting this picture. I was going to eat breakfast just now, but have lost my appetite. My doctor wants me to lose weight and he thanks you as well.

Yet another poor choice. The fabric was more suited to a cocktail party. The neckline does nothing. The shape of the dress is unflattering. It shows she has a flat chest. And the tailoring does her belly no favors.

Who is dressing this woman???

Had the same thought when seeing the contrast of those around her. Everything they do and say is so political but wearing a neon dress at the SOTU address just fell flat. Look at the 'prom dress' she chose to greet chic Kate Middleton.

Will someone paleassseeee take her to Talbots and ge her something classy yet understated and almost boring?

She looks like a protoype 70's Muscle Car with too bright colors and the color didn't work, all she needs is some racing stripes...

That’s not a dress.

It’s a rococo lampshade.

I had a car in that color in ‘91.
I’d like to have another one of the same color.

A woman in a dress that color? Nah.

The dress is a beautiful color, but the style really doesn’t do much for her figure type. The woman standing next to her appears to have a llasa apso on her head.
