Newt Gingrich insists his fans will not be silenced.
Mr. Gingrich, a former House speaker, on Tuesday morning threatened not participate in any future debates with audiences that have been instructed to be silent. That was the case on Monday, when Brian Williams of NBC News asked the audience of about 500 people who assembled for a debate in Tampa to hold their applause until the commercial breaks.
In an interview with the morning show Fox and Friends, Mr. Gingrich said NBCs rules amounted to stifling free speech. In what has become a standard line of attack for his anti-establishment campaign, Mr. Gingrich blamed the media for trying to silence a dissenting point of view.

Sometimes, and sometimes not. But the audience to which the argumentative or persuasive rhetoric is directed are not the spectators, but the judge and jury--the ones beyond "the bar."
Thank you RatRipper - right to the heart of the matter.
“”Audience participation cuts into the power of the MSM. The MSM has controlled information way too long. I am with Newt on audience participate, but for a different reason. We MUST defeat the press at their games.””
Plus, if the StateRunMedia can lull the electorate to sleep, it gives the subconscious impression that none of these candidates inspire us.
May God grant us strength, wisdom and courage.

Other articles here saying this NYT piece is untrue. Can we get clarification and if this is untrue, should fix the headliner or get it pulled?
Williams is a dingleberry...no surprise.
Sad to report FRiend that many have been after Bigtigermike alllll day to amend the title in ANY way, but he has never responded, so the general consensus is that his intention all along was to advance the media spin : |
Other folks contacted the mods, but nothing was done, and the possibility was floated that this thread was serving a purpose in giving a lot of folks plenty of rope to hang themselves with...
May God grant us the strength, wisdom and courage, to see this through.

Sigh. Sorry for the double post. This iPad and I have a rather adversarial relationship : /

No I’ve been at work since I posted it this morning- didn’t know that it was a misquote
Why in the world do you have to end every post with some kind of insult or personal barb?
I remember you from the last presidential cycle and you were a nice person then.
Whether or not I “like” Gingrich has nothing to do with it. Despite the way some of his “fans” are proceeding, I don’t see this as a celebrity ball.
I don’t trust him, yet, and I have concerns about whether he can win.
That is all.
If he gets the nomination, I will work to get him elected. In the meantime, he’s got a lot of explaining to do, in my book. And I don’t agree with the pass he’s being given by some conservatives.
Yep. And I was just trying to be nice!
Gosh.... I hope you had a good day at work, because It was certainly an interesting afternoon in your absence FRiend : /
Very glad to know it was wholly unintentional on your part, because we were really under siege from whole lot of folks who were totally ready to swallow the StateRunMedia Newt is a spoiled child line, based solely upon the totally fabricated headline.
Heck, folks were so ready to believe the spin that we couldn’t even get them to slow down enough to read what he actually said, let alone actually go and listen to him : /
Apologies for giving in to doubt under the onslaught.
May God grant us strength, wisdom and courage in this fight for our nation.
