This is not the debunked report from earlier, is it?
He was a great patriot, a humanitarian, a loyal friend - provided, of course, that he really is dead.
I played high school ball for four years. I wasn’t even close to being good enough to play at Oregon. I used to play pickup games until I got too old. That said, there’s a level of immersion for any game that is unhealthy. It appears Joe was a good example.
R.I.P. Joe.
Idi Amin redux?
God bless Joe Paterno and his family.Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.
Hopefully the Paterno family will find some peace now. I liked Joe, funny how a few years ago many PSU fans were calling for his scalp when the football team was losing.
Prayers are.
May he rest in peace and may the victims of his staff and his negligence find peace as well.
Give my Best to Bear!
He'd still be alive if they hadn't "treated" him.
A good man. If he sinned, I trust that he had the chance to confess and repent it before he died. In any case, he was far less guilty than several dozen other people involved in the matter, including some of those who fired him.
May God have mercy on his soul. Requiescat in pace.
O God of spirits and of all flesh,
You have trampled down death
and have abolished
the power of the devil,
giving life to Your world.
Give rest to the soul
of Your departed servant Joseph
in a place of light,
in a place of repose,
in a place of refreshment,
where there is no pain,
sorrow, and suffering.
As a good and loving God,
forgive every sin he has committed
in thought, word or deed,
for there is no one who lives
and is sinless.
You alone are without sin.
Your righteousness
is an everlasting righteousness,
and Your word is truth.
For You are the resurrection,
the life
and the repose of Your departed servant Joseph
Christ our God,
and to You we give glory,
with Your eternal Father
and Your all holy,
good and life-giving Spirit,
now and forever and to the ages of ages.
Coach Paterno, a great man and a loving man.
Requiescat in Pace.
A displaced genetic Texan, as a child in Seattle I took a roll of black electrical tape from my father's workshop and put a stripe down the middle of my white helmet so I could 'play ball' for Joe Paterno in backyard games. I had no connection to Pennsylvania or Penn State and couldn't care less about playing for Penn State. I played for Joe Paterno.
I've posted a lot on here since November 4. In death we are all human. Rest in peace.
