Schmidt: "Not only are we not moving toward a coalescing of support with the establishment of Newt Gingrich, we're probably moving toward a declaration of war on Newt Gingrich by the Republican establishment. And if Newt Gingrich is able to win the Florida primary, you will see a panic and a meltdown of the Republican establishment that is beyond my ability to articulate in the English language. People will go crazy,"
And you will have this five week period until the Super Tuesday states that will be just as unpredictable, tumultuous as any period in modern American politics. It will be a remarkable thing to watch, should that happen in Florida."
Maddow: "Is there a component of that which is building a firewall around Mitt Romney, protecting him? We saw the establishment try to do that and Romney helping, saying You cant talk any smack about Bain. Bain is what I want to run on, it has to be positive, dont undercut that at all. Which to me, was like a flashing red neon arrow, heres my glass jaw, please dont hit it. Is there a way to protect Mitt Romney other than, I think, this wrong approach, Itheyve taken with Bain."
Schmidt: "I think everybody in the establishment Republican circles in Washington D.C. is fixated on the numbers we talked about earlier. Newt Gingrich has a 100% name ID, has a 60% national unfavorable number and its a number so high that with the 100% name ID its impossible to come back from. Batty, man!
I went to the link and read it all. They raise a good point about Newt’s terrible favorability numbers.
However, the article argues that can’t be fixed because he has an already very high name ID.
I think that’s hogwash.
All he needs to do is truly explain who he is and counter the media and leftist attacks, which he does well.
Weill it be harder for him to win than somebody with not as much baggage? Sure. But, I think he will because his ideas and skills significantly mollify that issue.
Let us not be complacent or lose our focus. They will re-double their efforts to foist their appointed one on us by any means possible.
*************
It will. But the Establishment has a problem because they only have Romney— and he can’t even release his tax return. WHY?
What Obama was going to do to Romney- Newt will do first.
BTTT!
When I saw Newt had beaten Romney I said “I bet Peggy Noonan is rolling over in her grav....er ah bubble bath.”
Newt is Anti-Establishment? What a joke.
If Newt wins Florida, I would not be surprised if the Tea Party tries to draft Paln.
I also wouldn’t be surprised if the leftwing media tres to bring Paln int the mix to screw things up.
That is what The GOP Establishment is afraid of....NEWT DOES know how to play ball....and the RULES they have made....and, maybe, just maybe, they know he will turn it all upside down.
I bet Peggy Noonan is rolling over in her grav....er ah bubble bath.

Nah. If she came in contact with water, she’d melt.
Remember this clown was on eof McPain’s campaign honcho’s ie he is a RINO LOSER.
I want the establishment of both parties panicked.
To the degree that the establishment of both parties hate Gingrich that is the degree to which he is the right candidate.
His statement tonight was gracious towards to other republican candidates and laid out who the BEAT OBAMA.
What were Churchill’s unfavorability ratings in May, 1940?
Bluehairs in the country club lounges are in panic mode this evening!
Oh shove it. He already acknowledged that was a mistake.
The misspelled "Barack Obama" in the first sentence.
He has stated repeatedly that posing with her was one of the dumbest things he’s done. What’s your problem?
