Limited magazine capacity (5 usually) and reloading one at a time...no suppressing fire power.

One could go with a SMLE, a bandoleer of loaded stripper clips and practice the Mad Minute. *If one could find a good supply of British 303.

A few years back the venerable SMLE was available in an Ishapore model chambered in 7.62 NATO. I bought two of them. They're amazing rifles. Wish I'd bought 6 of them.
