Below is from my FNC colleague Serafin Gomez
- Subject: SC Final: Gingrich 40%, Romney 26%
Newt Gingrich leads the South Carolina Republican presidential primary with 40% and is followed by Mitt Romney with 26%, Ron Paul with 18%, and Rick Santorum with 13%.
Gingrich has gained 7 percentage points since the survey conducted January 17-18 and Romney has lost 6 percentage points since that survey.
Gingrich leads Romney 47% to 24% among self-identified Republicans, followed by Paul and Santorum with 14% each. Paul leads among independents and Democrats with 33%, followed by Romney with 31%, Gingrich with 18%, and Santorum with 10%.
Gingrich leads among those likely primary voters saying they are supporters of the Tea Party with 48%, followed by Romney with 19%, Santorum with 16%, and Paul with 14%. Gingrich leads with 33% among those saying they are not supporters of the Tea Party or are undecided about the Tea Party, followed by Romney with 31%, and Paul with 22%.

Gingrich leads Romney among men 38% to 25%, followed by Paul with 21%. Among women, Gingrich leads Romney 42% to 26%, followed by Paul with 16%, and Santorum with 13%.*snip*
The trend to Gingrich continues, with women leading the way. In the January 17-18 survey, Gingrich was leading Romney 29% to 28% among women, in this survey Gingrich leads Romney 42% to 26% among women. Gingrich has become the anti-Romney among women and that is driving his total share up. The debate on Thursday and his ex-wife problem did not slow the trend.
Women for Newt?
IMO if this keeps up, you can forget about a Brokered Convention.
Wow. That would be beautiful if Newt gets put over the top at +10% or more.
Get out there and vote SC. The bigger winning margin Newt gets, the more his momentum going into FL. :)
So much for the women hate newt meme...LOL.
Bump
That was, to barrow a word “unexpected” haha
+ or - margine won’t help Milt on that kind of lead.
During one of the debates Paul was asked about his superpac being funded by George Soro’s; he skipped the question and never answered. For they’re to be hot air balloons and signs every where it sure seems he is funded by Soros.Independents will wake up and dump Paul for this.
Romney is a stuttering weak candidate that needs too step down. Rove and the GOP can KMA.
It will be quite humorous if Ron Paul places and Mitt ends up 3rd. I’ll have a real laugh if that happens.
+/-4 MOE, it will be interesting if Gingrich actually wins by double digits; that’s a big, rangy gap anywhere from 22% to 6%. And the polling was done Jan. 19-20, right through the middle of the soap opera. The RCP Composite has had a (rare) streak where their ‘smoothing’ of trends has actually been playable, but the inherit lag in composites may hurt them this time with Gingrich just +2% in SC.
Instead of bashing Newt, he should be plying for Secy. HHS. He's be good there.
Pretty impressive turnaround. I hope Mitt and his supporters are truly feeling the pain.
Thier,... Fixed it :-)
What a wonderful thing to behold if this is true. The people actually deciding for themselves. Ignoring the msm blatant attempts to discredit Newt. Ignoring the Washington elite Republican RINO establishment trying to pick a candidate for us. Just looking at and hearing the candidates themselves and making the choice. Conservatism wins every time. I am getting ready to make a donation to Newt for the Florida primary. GO NEWT GO!
If Paul is funded by Soros, a 3rd term run by him is almost a certainty.
