Heh. What the Church teaches is what Christ teaches - what God has brought together let men not separate. And I guess you haven’t read what Christ also says - the two become one flesh, and that if you unite with a prostitute you are one with her in spirit too...

You're conflating three different things. It was Paul who mentioned the prostitute and he didn't say "one with her in spirit," just that the two become one flesh. He went on to say that if you unite yourself with the Lord, you're one with him in spirit.

Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never! Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, “The two will become one flesh.” But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit.
