Well said! I wonder, where does “the no one’s perfect” crowd draw the line? Or are they devoid of morality and principle? They can be pesky things, can’t they?

Of one thing I’m sure, too many people, are wedded to the lowest common denominator. Very sad. They’re life’s expectations do not reach out for something better.

For the record I’m not perfect and I’m certainly not without sin. But I try to be a better person. And I never lose sight of right and wrong.

Google MaryAnn Gingrich’s FBI file. She got caught trying to sell influence...IMO it was only because of Newt’s position that the matter was dropped. (FBI file says she was “mentally unstable”

They were separated six years before the divorce. DId Newt stay married so she could receive the professional help she needed?

Well perhaps you can tell us.

When did the relationship begin hoosiermama?

He was 19, he was an adult when he married Jackie. Young, sure, but still old enough to get legally married.

Glad you got on the thread. Are you still snowed in?

Actually, Newt fought against Hillarycare and won.

And Santorum’s views on individualism are diametrically opposed to Reagan's.

Conservatism is all about personal responsibility, which Santorum would replace with government dependence. And that is no better than Obama’s vision.

The only difference is that one has G-d as the reason for it.

Fighter? LOL. Was Newty the House Speaker who resigned with his tail between his legs because of the faux ethics complaint against him manufactured by the dems?

He was the fellow wasn’t he?

I’m just saying - repentence means turning away from sin. Marrying your mistress is not the same thing as repentence - you are doubling down.

You wouldn’t give Mark Sanford a pass if only he married his mistress it would make it all right - no. You’d side, and rightfully so, with his lawful wife.

Nobody forced Newt to marry. Newt chose, of his own free will to get married. Newt may have regretted his choice of a wife, but the time to discern that is before, not after you get married.

The Catholic church has a radical understanding of marriage, unlike most. Marriage, all marriage is for life.

Curious, the SC primary website gave the impression that they closed registration a month ahead, are they incorrect?

They are correct. You have to register thirty days before the primary. They will let you have a provisional ballot if you believe you should be registered but are not on the list.

We don't have same day registration, at least for the primary.

Yeah, I might actually have to lift the boycott and tune into Fox News for this one. Maybe there will be a mass suicide. Should be a train wreck.

Repentance would be asking God for forgiveness. To which He said He would grant it. No need for popes or confessionals or Catholic doctrine. You are confusing “religion” for faith. It's nice for you that you believe in “religion”, but here is what Jesus said (not the pope, not a priest, not some denominational doctrine, but Jesus Himself:

Mark 11:
22 “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. 23 “Truly[f] I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. 25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.” [26] [g]

There's no way to be sure whether or not what we did was 'the right thing'....at the time anyway.

All we can do is pray for wisdom and guidance, and for God's will in everything, and then trust the rest to Him.

By the time I get to vote here in Ohio, Santorum may also be out and it will be quite easy for me. :)

"On the other hand, Speaker Gingrich has done some controversial things. That doesn’t bother me. Thinkers do controversial things. Cowards shrink from controversy. For every RINO deed performed, 10 bold Conservative initiatives were introduced. America needs bold if we are to survive."

Bears repeating. bttt

I share your concern on the global warming thing.

One thing I liked about Rick Perry was that he promised to shut down the EPA. This agency has hurt business over stuff that doesn’t matter more than any other.

I hate GREEN people. Well, Kermit may be okay, but ...

They’ve now taken around here to putting signs next to handicap parking spaces that are supposedly reserved for ‘Green’ cars ... that have some kind of fuel efficient rating.

I always park my big bus there while wishing I had a Hummer to park there. This is not enforceable and is an insult.

I’m too lazy to appear at the Irving City Council to protest, but I wish someone would.

This stupid green stuff has permeated our society and made money for people like algore. Grrr.

Anyway, we need to keep Newt’s feet to the fire on this.

And we need to work very hard to elect more real conservatives to the house and senate to keep whatever president we end up with in line.

I hope it’s Newt.
