Thank you, LJ. I always enjoy yours, as well. You've opened my mind to a different perspective on more than one occasion.
You are very kind.
What I need to do is make a list of freepers whose comments I like and just do searches on them instead of “latest posts”. I was just thinking of that lately. I have a mental list but I’m so forgetful, I should make a list on my desktop.
I totally agree - those who have fallen/transgressed etc and then realized the wrongs, and changed - are just as “good” as those who never fell. Wasn’t Issa a car thief at one time? And some fall or transgress of course, more than others. ANd there are some transgressions that while forgivable by God are so egregious they render a person unsuitable for public life.
I have some doubts about Newt but they are more along the lines of his sitting with Pelosi and some other stuff; I don’t relish his strange marital career, but heck - he IS a fighter and he is smart and he does hold conservative principles. I really liked him in the Contract with America days. He will not be tempted - I don’t think - to compromise or make nice with knaves and fools. And that is absolutely VITAL.
