I agree Windy. Look at Palin’s support. Why did so many of us flock to a Governor from the sticks?
She new how to lead without a focus group and the approval of the msm. She was unafraid to call a spade a spade. And so we supported her in the face of many...conservatives...here and across the media literally calling her everything from a lesbian to a prostitute.
For all his human flaws, Gingrich knows how to lead. He did it in Congress and passed many solidly conservative bills that his opponents ignore and he’s doing it now in the debates and his taking the fight to the media.
He converted me, you and countless others here who had no intention to vote for him on the strength of his ACTIONS. And in TV land. And in radio land...doing the very same thing. If that isn’t leading, I don’t know what is.

Indeed. What kept me blinded about Newt in the early months of the primary, were the many positions he'd taken over recent years that cut against my conservative grain. Like many others, I was failing to note his actual ACCOMPLISHMENTS, which are in complete alignment with patriotic Americans' beliefs.
In addition, Newt is as smart as any of us, and is correctly assessing the lay of the field as we go to battle - even though that means he's had to abandon or rethink some of the positions he's held in recent years. He's convinced me that he's courageous enough to self correct when he sees where a tactic or position conflicts with his (and our) core values.
