Shut up John Bolton. Go back to talking about foreign policy, where you belong.

I think John is a great thinker and a tremendous foreign policy wonk, but he has apparently lost focus on things other then his area of expertise.

Mitt is such a waffly fog, that maybe Bolton (and other Mitt cheerers-on) think Obama will find fighting him like trying to fight a will-o-the-wisp.

The phrase “Romney is the only conservative ...” is an oxymoron.

Romney may be the Republican that can beat 0bama, but he’s no conservative.

I’d still like to see Bolton as Sec. of State, regardless of his politics.

No one in politics have disappointed me as much as Bolton. He COULD have save the US in 2008, but refused to run for president - even though his own staff wanted him to run, as well as people like Jim Quinn.

Too busy making money to save the country.

Bolton starts off with a lie. By no stretch of the imagination is Romney a Conservative.

Romney is a conservative of the Uber Faux variety and is the least likely Republican to be able to beat the kenyan.

I really like Bolton so I will give him a Mulligan on this one.

Probably was promised a cabinet position.

Oh well.

Say you don't mean it John! I have wished you would run for office, you are so good at foreign policy and sticking up for our sovereignty, but ---Ta!Da!--flashing lights, glittering marquee, posted in tall letters---Mitt AIN'T a conservative!

The late Bill Buckley bequeathed us the right test: Pick the most conservative candidate capable of winning. That is clearly Mitt Romney. Thanks, I needed that.

The WFB rule for choosing winning candidates gave the nation Joseph Lieberman among others.

It's a flawed premise for two reasons: 1) it's not that easy to know who is "capable of winning" before votes are counted; and 2) the degree of conservativism exhibited by candidates running for office may not persist once they are elected and begin to hold the reins of power.

A candidate's previous conduct in office, his voting record and his personal traits are much more reliable indicators than the perceived "conservatism" he might exude on the campaign trail.

As everyone here should be aware by now, Mitt Romney is a very slick salesman. He says what he has been told will bring the most Republicans to his side, and it works . . so far.

It will not work if by some quirk of fate he becomes the Republican nominee and has to "moderate" his views to get the independent segment of the vote.
