Newt Gingrich’s woman problem [I push leftist propaganda on FR and all I got was this zot]
Washington Post ^ | 01/20/2012 | Felicia Sonmez

How will the details revealed by Marianne Gingrich regarding her former husband’s personal life – and Newt Gingrich’s defiant response – play out among the GOP presidential primary electorate?

But it’s worth keeping in mind that even before Marianne Gingrich went public, Newt Gingrich was already facing tough odds when it comes to his support among women nationally — a factor that underscores the argument made by his GOP rivals against his electability in the fall.

There typically tends to be a gender gap in presidential general elections, as women vote more Democratic than men.

But a CNN/Time/Opinion Research survey conducted Jan. 11-12 showed that among national adults, Gingrich faces the biggest gender gap of all the GOP contenders.

If the general election had been held in mid-January – before news of the Marianne Gingrich interviews had broken -- the CNN survey shows President Obama would have taken 54 percent to Gingrich’s 41 percent. Among only men, that gap narrows to a six-percentage point difference: 49 percent for Obama and 43 percent to Gingrich.

But among women, it widens to 18 points: 58 percent for Obama and 40 percent for Gingrich.

... Newt was having sex with a much younger staffer, which is sexual harassment according to the law.

Where did you hear that BS? That's not the law as I as forced to learn from my large corporation boss-types.

Yeah, Gingrich has show himself to be a feisty one. That’s good. We need a fighter, not someone who rolls over at the first sign of resistance.

I’m probably going to vote for Gingrich tomorrow, but mostly because I don’t want Romney to win SC. I keep thinking I might prefer Santorum out of the remaining field, but throwing my support there could just be stupid. It could help ensure a Romney win.

Here’s hoping that Gingrich can connect with the uninformed masses. Here’s hoping that he survives the savaging he gets from the media and his opponents.

Yeah, I always get nervous about FR when I see questionable ZOTs. I’ve seen a few over the course of my tenure here.

Sorry - wasn’t accusing you of doing the zotting. Maybe just dancing on the grave a bit. ;-)

Whatever...

I’m for Newt for President, not my parish priest. I already have one of those.

And during the impeachment 13 years ago Newt was having sex with a much younger staffer....Newt has a character problem that will not only damage the country it will hurt the conservative movement for years to come.

And only six years ago, Romney implemented RomneyCare in Massachusetts, which is indicative of a character flaw far more menacing to the Republic and to our liberties than failure to keep it zipped.

In other words, polls before this week no longer mean anything.

I'm always amazed and amused how many folks will dig up old stats, charts, graphs and polls that have been either proven wrong or just outdated and are now not a reflection of today's reality, and then try to pretend that we can't understand what is going on.

She won’t run and will quit after the election to join Bill at his Global “charity” scam. She’s exhausted. She’s frustrated. She wants to be thought of as bigger than politics, now. And she hates the Obamas.

I've seen a couple questionable ZOTS but this one looks awfully strange.

It seems like people are now being silenced for not liking Newt? And not liking him is considered leftist propoganda? I may be missing something but that's how it looks to me.

Weird, weird.

You don’t have to forgive him to vote for him. Ron Paul and Mittens are not an option. Santorum will never get traction outside of his fervent evangelical support base. I’m evangelical, so that’s not a criticism, just a political fact. So who else is there? A late entry from Palin, while I would enjoy that thoroughly, is as unlikely as a tsunami in central Kansas. Don’t forgive Newt if you can’t, but please consider *using* him to defeat someone far worse, far more dangerous to the future of this country. I love my granddaughter. Do it for her, for your own family. This is war. Our options are few and our time is short. Newt’s not perfect, but he’s really our last best chance to arrest the insurgency. IMHO.

You sure do. AND there was an attempt to reconcile but it didn’t work.

She also has an issue with a sting operation with the FBI.
(She being the one trying to make some money...)

Newt Gingrich was NOT involved by the FBI’s account.

Forgive me, but Americanophile’s efforts with the Islamisation ping list should be weighed when contemplating such a drastic action as a zot. I’ve been on that ping list for well over a year and I can’t tell you how often I’ve used it as a resource.

That Americanophile isn’t exactly on board with Newt and that there ARE some questions about Newt isn’t so much zotworthy as it is simply a matter of topical discussion. For me some of the questions are valid since I haven’t really settled on a candidate to support (while having made clear I am not supporting Romney).

Newt’s showing at the debate last night was awesome and, for me, puts much of this to rest right there. But will it come up again in a general election? Sure it will. The Despicablecrats will say anything they want and I guess this topic is fair game to the extent of establishing how Newt will deal with it.

And right now Newt is looking like he can hold his own. If the election were today I’d vote for him, no doubt.

All that said, could it be reconsidered on the decision to zot Americanophile? The Islamization ping list is, to me, a very valuable part of FR and I’d like to see that contribution continue.

Thanks for reading this whatever you do.

Megan

Newt was for a personal mandate on a federal level where as Romney only advocated this solution at a state level. Newt has flip-flopped and been consistently liberal as much, if not more than Mitt and but Mitt managed to "keep it zipped". And yet you continue to defend Newt's depraved behavior. The hypocrisy and ignorance demonstrated on this thread will be the death of this great nation.

You are insane if you think that Mitt has been to the right of Gingrich during their lives.

With Romney, there is no conservatism, no conservative past, no conservative history, only liberalism, only anti-conservatism.

Anti-Reagan, anti Contract with America, anti-”the Jesse Helmses” in the Senate, fighting tooth and nail for abortion. Romney is our worse nightmare.
