John King started the night with a question about Newts ex-wifes interview in which she alleged Newt sought an open marriage. Newt answered the question eventually with a denial, but used the oppoturnity to give King a smackdown which will be remembered for a long time.
Possibly one of the best debate smackdowns of a MODERATOR in the history of the United States.
and Niteline punts... 9 minutes in and they are on to the Italian Cruise Disaster.
>> “Fifty per cent of the American people have been divorced and have dealt with an X spouse and the MSM thinks they are not going to relate to Newt?
They are so STUPID!” <<
.
Yep, that’s a fact, and its actually closer to 60%.
Gorbachev admitted later in life that Reagan's "evil empire" speech caused much introspection on his part. We need more of this. Much more.
They cannot allow Zero to debate Newt.
Can’t happen, so it won’t happen.
You are about a month late with that little cliche. We are past that stage of media mickeymouse.
Dems should not complain since all decisions were jade by consenting adults. Republican Christians who believe in redemption and forgiveness should not complain. Journalists who dig through garbage for Republican candidates contin to be hypocrits by not investigating Barry who did cocaine a few short years ago compared to Newt’s timeline under scrutiny. I am tired of the quest for the flawless candidate.
YES!
All going 'yup yup, you did the right thing John, yup yup, had to be asked, yup yup..." Especially like David Gergen, who appears to be some sort of invertebrate who subsists on a diet of slurping globs of mucus from orifices of higher mammals.
Actually, Most of Newt’s support is women.
Tim La Haye, the country’s dispensational father figure, is supporting Newt 100%
No, for all the drivel about Newt's anger, Romney is very brittle under pressure and is way more likely than Newt to crack. Mitt is not used to being questioned, you can see it in his eyes--he has paper thin skin. Newt has been through the wars and has a leather hide.
Santorum has no clue what would be coming down the tracks. Might make a good senator again if he could just beat someone.
My kindly thoughts about John King were dispersed on January 5th last. Anderson Cooper had played two clips of Rick Santorum that seemed at variance with the image Santorum wished to cultivate. Cooper handed off to King for his comments. King seemed to relish the "Gotcha" moment.
Newt Gingrich has certainly set the stage for a face off with the press. How they might wish for the manner of an affable and regular nice guy- if I might make so bold. His name? George W. Bush.
Some years ago I was with my wife visiting Mackinac Island in Michigan. I saw four men cycling together. One was Newt Gingrich. I had the nerve to wave. He briefly acknowledged me and said "Hi".
Something to tell my grandchildren if Newt becomes president.
Just imagine how sweet it would be to have 4 or 8 years of Newt running the table on the media like this day in and day out.
I’m sending Newt some money.
Thanks for posting, I have not seen it on the tube. The MSM is the scum of the earth. They never attack the bummer.
Remember his pledge, if Obama refuses to debate, Newt will shadow him all around the country and hold a town hall immediately after any obama speech.
The flunkies are running scared, especially after tonight.
Morality is the most important issue facing our Country. An immoral country will fall. We have been departing from the God of the Christians and Jews and He has been departing His favor from us. Our healing is in The LORD and Him alone. All the political stuff is just window dressing. We stand or fall because we either have The LORD's favor or not.
Of course it had to be asked. King said he personally made the call WHEN it would be asked. Asking it first made the rest of the debate irrelevant though and the rest of the panel had to fall in line after the standing ovation for Newt. You could just see the disappointment wash over Rick, after losing what was going to be one of his big “values” issues.
