Ultimately, Cain’s actions with his wife in not telling her about the loans were the killer of his campaign. Also ultimately, McNewt’s past will haunt him out of the running. I suspect it will really come back to haunt him if he is nominated, but it provides a good opportunity to be able to reconsider while there is still a conservative in the race.
With everyone pushing votes for Newt to extend the race, they will next use Newt’s showing to force Santorum out. At that point, we end up with four more years of Zero.
My point merely is this:
If Cain is candida non grata (haha) for his alleged conduct, then the same standard should be applied across the board. Consistency is what I expect of candidates with their records and conservatism; and I think that’s what most of us expect. In turn, we have an obligation to have a consistent standard.
Sounds like it’s going to be Santorum and Mitt. I heard Santorum will not work on SUNdays? Have you heard this?
