AND NOW . . . amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke. . . it is time for . . . that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, from behind the golden EIB microphone, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-the-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, serving humanity simply by showing up, and he’s not retiring until every American agrees with him, do NOT doubt him, with shrieks of joy at the mere mention of his name (that’s Rush, for those in Rio Linda),the Mandarin of Talk Radio, with talent on loan from G-d, at the cutting-edge of societal evolution, with half his brain tied behind his back — just to make it fair, the all-knowing, all-caring, all-sensing, all-feeling, all-concerned Maha-Rushie! America’s anchorman, truth detector, and doctor of democracy. A Real Man, a living legend, a way of life. Commander in Chief of U.S. Operation Chaos. Chief Waga-Waga El Rushbo of the El Conservo Tribe. Chief of the Patriotism Police. Leader of the Conservative Movement. A Weapon of Mass Instruction. El Rushbo (a little Spanish lingo, there). He is the man who is running America (you know it and I know it). He knows the Democrats like every square inch of his glorious naked body. He is ready to do what he was born to do—that’s host. Get ready to what you were born to do—that’s listen (and post your comments on the Rush Limbaugh LIVE Radio Thread).

I don’t know the history of Newt and his wives...did he cheat on wife no 2 with wife No 2? If so she should have not been surprised he would wander again..

I didn’t donate because my money is cursed.

I know what you mean! We donated a lot to Fred Thompson last time around ... and look how that ended up! We recently donated to Santorum, though we also like Newt and are rooting for him.

Either one would be better for American than either Obama or Romney.

I like the way Windflier said it, on a different thread a day or two ago:

"There are few in the political game who can match [Gingrich] for wits, knowledge, or skill, in a battle of verbal fisticuffs."

Incidentally, it was a brave and right thing that Perry did today -- God bless Rick Perry. And GODSPEED NEWT GINGRICH.

s88: "Mitt will do absolutely nothing to turn our Republic towards Liberty."

MsMag: "I am NO Romney fan (see my post #86); however, Romney won't be actively trying to destroy the country, unlike Obama. I'd rather have 4 years of bobbing on the waves & bailing the boat with Romney ...."

Respectfully, I suggest that Romney wouldn't actively be trying to destroy the country, but he would be doing so just the same, and in such a way that would throw the proverbial life vests off the boat altogether, because Republicans would become totally disarmed in fighting statism against an Administration of their own party. After a few days in that lifeboat without fresh water, so thirsty you can't think straight and hoping you get fresh rain before you die of thirst, Romney would be the one urging, "Well, any water is beter than no water -- let's drink from the ocean!"

I love Rush, but his faith that Republicans will tug Romney to the right is wishful thinking. Maybe Rush thinks that if Romney wins, after all the cheerleading Rush has done for Bain and pushing the "Newt's an anti capitalist!" angle, that Rush could have some influence on tugging him to the right, I don't know. But Romney would FOR SURE make liberalism more powerful in both parties. If Obama won, conservatism would grow more powerful in the Republican party and maybe the Democrat party, too -- the only question is, would it be in time? I think it would; The "Bbbbbbut we can't survive another four years of Obama!" is hysteria, and hysteria makes people do stupid things -- like vote for Romney.

Just my two cents. :^)

Excellent analysis. I agree with all you have written. I have a good feeling that Mitt has peaked and it is all downhill for him after SC and FL.
