Charleston, South Carolina (CNN) - Rick Perry is telling supporters that he will drop his bid for the Republican presidential nomination on Thursday, two sources familiar with the plans told CNN.

They changed it to Indians because the original was less polite.
The lesson to take away from Perry’s candidacy, is that you’ve got to be ready from Day One after you announce...you have to be prepared to debate, know your facts and articulate them....I think in the long run, Perry could have been a very strong candidate, but it just took too long for him to get out of the gate, and he never recovered.
I suspect if he is the VP pick, he will take those lessons to heart, and be ready to go.
Americans, particularly conservative voters, need to begin to develop guts of STEEL right now.
Need to decide either to allow yourself to be swayed by all this media lying and garbage, or STAND the heck up to it.
They will do ANYTHING at this point. It’s really a scary thought as to exactly how far they’re gonna go.
We need to be ready, as Americans — as they/someone are obviously in this to TAKE this country down.
I agree with you about Beck...Hannity has not been as forthright in his attacks/support for a particular candidate. I remember when Hannity had Newt on a lot during the beginning of the election cycle...many on here were saying that he was in the tank for Newt. I feel that Hannity gives fair time to all candidates. But, I do agree...we need to weed out any traitors! Thanks you Perry!
Good. This is important and I respect him for doing it. He should have done so sooner after NH IMHO.
This will now leave Santorum and Newt to split the conservative vote. Perry’s 3-4 percent will not make much differnce in SC. But if Newt shows really strong there and either approaches or defeats Romney, then Santorum should also drop out and support Newt.
That will be the defining moment in the GOP race and the moment the real primary contest finally begins.
Romney (more moderate and being sold to independents by the MSM), Paul (who sappeals to the libertarians, free drug, OWS, and many fiscally conservatives), and Newt (who can articulate conservatoive principles so he not only appeals to independents, but can convert many of them and bring them to the conservative principled way of thinking).
It will come down to Newt or Romney and will probably stretch out into the summer before a decision is made. I view that as good. It will allow the conservative message, more tonned down by Romney and trumpeted by Newt to resound in tens of millions of ears for all of those months. It will also vet them both and hopefully help innoculate the winner against the attacks that will come from Obama who has such a horrible, pitiful and decrepid record that he will only be able to go into attack mode.
If Newt wins it, then picks someone like West to be his VP, then I believe we will decimate the liberals, for President, in the House, the Senate and the States...which is EXACLTY what we need.
“Beck is having a fit about Newt right now...He would pick Romney over Newt in a heartbeat!”
You know, I lurked here for three years before I signed up to post; I always used to enjoy the Beck TV show thread, and I signed up for GBTV when it came out. I used to see folks here saying Beck would eventually pimp Romney, and I didn’t believe it. But they were right. I emailed Beck about it, and Paty Gray sent me a snarky response about my “problems” with Romney, saying he is a better candidate than Newt. I cancelled GBTV; I don’t want my money going to support such nonsense.
Perry put his country first. First class guy.
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition.
I use to enjoy Beck in the past...I have his radio show on now just to have something to listen too while working. This will probably be my last day of listening to him! Beck keeps bringing up all of the “lies” in the adds that Newt has put out, but has nothing to say about the “lies” that Mitt’s people have put out.
I’ve heard he’s going to endorse Newt.
Beck is a Mormon... his only concern is to get a Mormon elected.
Sadly, I think Drudge is clearly in it for Mitt : / Unscientific I know, but he has not had even one even remotely flattering pic of Newt up there, and the same was for Perry until this morning, when the going home headlined...
May God give us strength and wisdom.

Worse than slim. We're left without a reliable conservative candidate. I'm out for the rest of the race. I'll likely vote for the nominee but that's it for me.
when I wrote indians I was thinking it was something referent to black people but I couldn’t remember the word used, and wasn’t sure why I was thinking that anyway. The original title is in the publishing data page, iirc.
I never supported Rick’s bid for the White House, but I twice gave him my vote for Governor.
Come on home Rick. You made the right choice.
I'm luke-warm for Santorum but otherwise, you're right.
One Rick down, one Rick to go.
“Beck keeps bringing up all of the lies in the adds that Newt has put out, but has nothing to say about the lies that Mitts people have put out.”
Yes, I just turned the show on, and he’s listing Newt’s problems one by one, and gleefully. Yet isn’t it interesting that Beck has nothing to say about the 200-page Romney file that just hit the internet? You want plenty of stuff to LIST? And there’s nothing about it on the Blaze, either.
