Gov. Rick Perry is getting pressure from conservative leaders to bow out of the presidential race before South Carolinas primary election Saturday.
In particular, Erick Erickson of the prominent conservative blog, RedState, reflecting on former Alaska Governor Sarah Palins endorsement of former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, wrote this morning that:
The next big question is whether Governor Perry decides to depart the race before or after Saturday. And if he departs, will he endorse Newt Gingrich, who wrote the introduction to Governor Perrys book Fed Up!

Again, you cannot back up you claim that Perry is as RINO. George W. Bush, JEB Bush, H. W. Bush, Barbara Bush, Jenna Bush, Prescot Bush, George P. Bush, or Neil Bush have absolutely nothign to do with the fact that you claimed Rick Perry was a RINO, that I called you out on it and presented you with facts, and that all you've done since then is not prove me wrong.
And to answer your question, George W. Bush was a helluva lot more conservative than Al Gore, John McCain, and John Kerry. Those were my choices then. And Rick Perry is more conservative than George W. Bush by a long shot.
keep diggin’ that hole.
None of the candidates should drop out just yet. What do you do if Gingrich implodes the way Cain did? Then it defaults to Romney if the others are out. Why not let them fight it out at least until Florida. Anything can happen in this race — as we’ve already seen. I remember when everyone was writing off Newt because he sat on the couch with Nancy and offered citizenship to illegals during one of the early debates.
The problem with that is Romney gets closer towards the nomination with the conservatives split.....
we need to start to consolidate...and Perry is one of the throwaway cards.
My guess, based upon no special information whatsoever, is that if Perry drops out he will support Santorum, just to keep Gingrich from catching up with Romney.
I would let it die, if I were you. You are out matched by GOPyouth. THWAP! You get a set of facts together that says Rick didn’t fill the bill as laid out exactly as GOP laid it out for you. Calling facts talking points is a hoot! LOL! I am simply dying to call your non-existent litany “talking points”.
Great call and raise there, youth!
I backed up my claim regarding Perry. You have yet to back up yours. I cited you over 20 examples of how he's a conservative. You have yet to prove me wrong on any of them.
You did try your hardest to prove me wrong by bringing up somebody from the Bush family, since that has everything in the world to do with Rick Perry's conservative credentials.
But, keep on. I really don't mind making you look like this.
Thanks for a thoughtful and respectful response.
I agree to disagree with some of your points/definitions, but I wish you, indeed all of us, well.
Wouldn’t have it any other way. Take care.
You seriously mention Perry and “no baggage” in the same sentence?
When Perry leads, I’ve found it best to watch for the potholes along his paths. I was tempted to support his Presidential bid just to get him out of Texas!
Rick Perry is a good guy. This is just not his year. He has zero chance to win. He needs to get out and endorse Newt. Santorum needs to get out also. Newt can beat Mitt in head to head campaign.
Look, there are always whiners. Perry has been governor of Texas for 11 years. Of course, he’s annoyed some of you people along the way.
There is nothing substantive you can accuse him of. If you’re thinking of the same old stuff you whiners bring up, just don’t even bother with it.
It’s all be disputed and refuted.
I’ll say it again. Liberals and the liberal press have been looking in Perry’s closet trying to find some kind of trash for years and all they’ve found is boots and bibles.
Not too good I'd say....but at least he endorsed the right person...I have to give him credit on that one.
So, tell me....how’s you boy doin today?<<<

My boy is a gentleman and a soldier. Always has been. My hat is off to him. It’s over my heart.
His campaign was late in making him shine and I moved on because of that, but Rick Perry is a class act and if anyone, he will endorse Newt for whatever it’s worth.
I can agree with that. I’m sure he will do a fine job for Texas....just not his time yet I guess.
