Rush: Republicans Were 'Thirsting' For Newt's Message
CNSNews.com ^ | January 17, 2012 | By Gregory Gwyn-Williams, Jr.

Today, Rush Limbaugh said that Republican voters know now that Conservatism is “in Newt’s heart.”

“What we had last night in the Newt portion of the debate alone, was the pure and simple, forceful, passionate articulation of conservative principle and belief, that before last night was missing for whatever reason…we know now that it’s in Newt’s heart, it’s there.”

I think this is as much of an endorsement that Rush can make right now. If it comes down to two people, he will endorse Newt.

Already the media esp FOX is lambasting Newt for asking Perry and Santorum to drop out...

Newt is the classic opportunist. He talks a good game, but then sells out to the likes of Freddie Mac, the ethanol whores, etc. No thanks............

Thanks, Kansas girl.

I am.

I’ve kind of reached a physical plateau in my recovery and though I am not super steady on my feet, and have a lot of issues with bowel and bladder management that I will contend with the rest of my life, I am alive, I can walk, and I am able to carry on a fairly normal life, working and providing for my family, spending a lot of time with grandkids, and good times with my wonderful, dear, angelic wife of 34 years and our five kids.

Trying to continue helping them understand what has made this nation great...particularly our recognition of and adherence to the fundamental Chrsitian principles our Savior taught.

That is what we must return to...and elect candidates at all levels who understand them, share them with us, and will ensure that they are protected and honored in law.

That is why America is tolerant, that is why America helps so many others, that is why America is strong, that is why America is propserous, and that is really why America is free.

Thanks for asking and thanks for your thoughts, prayers and faith on my behalf and that of my family.

I try and keep my status updated on Facebook and at my site:

With Obama, we get Obamacare.
With Romney, we get Romneycare.
With Gingrich, we get Gingrichcare.
With Santorum, we get the federal government the hell out of healthcare.

Which is the conservative position?

A $trillion cut would be just fine with me for a start.

Sure, and I'll just wave my magic wand, and we'll have a balanced budget, Ronal Reagan will be president, and the Duke will still be making movies.

Since Never-Never-Land is now considered urgent politics, you can have your dreams come true.

“Get on board the Newt-Train, Rush!!!”

So far this morning Rush has spent the show defending Mitt. This is as of 9:45am on the Pacific Coast. I don’t know.

Or we could just keep going like we are until the whole thing crashes around our ears.

Rush has got to know that a Willard the Lib nomination will KILL his ratings.

Obama versus Obama-lite is an absolute snoozefest.

If Obama won’t debate Newt, Newt should do speeches and bring a TV screen with him with new Obama clips every day that Obama gives a speech to do a mock debate against.

Allow me to repeat: no one will ever approve zero taxes; it’s irrational.

Taxes are in the Constitution.

I can’t respond to that since I didn’t hear him say it and don’t know the context.

For instance he could have been talking about the income tax rate. Then it would have been another way of saying he wanted to illiminate the income tax. Which is eminently reasonable.

But again I don’t know.

Ok, I did some research for you. Paul is against any Federal direct taxation. That is not the same as saying he is against the Federal government collecting revenues to pay for its legitimate functions.

That is radical and perhaps unwise but not insane.

To provide funding for the federal government, Ron Paul supports excise taxes, non-protectionist tariffs, massive cuts in spending.

A big part of the appeal cult leaders have to their sycophants is their ability to offer a “pure” vision, an alternative ideology that they can claim is “purer” than all the rest. That sets them apart from all the people who’ve actually accomplished things in the real world, which can never achieve purely perfect results. Hitler is a perfect example, in that he offered the vision of a pure master race and a Germany that would return to its original, pure vision of what it was supposed to be. It’s a message that appeals to people who are young and naive or to people who are emotionally damaged.

I think Newt is creative, imaginative and “zany” enough to do some attention-grabbing things like that. Like he said about the Trump debate, he agrees with Herman Cain that we should have a sense of humor about politics. It’s hard to imagine a stiff like Mitt or people who are as unsure of themselves in public as Santorum or Perry doing something fun like that.

He just better make sure he doesn’t get a white actor in blackface to play Obama’s role in a mock debate. That might not go over so well.

I loved Reagan as a kid, but when I really started paying attention to politics was around my senior year of high school, when a guy named Newt Gingrich came to the forefront.

He shouldn’t have, IMHO. He’s much better when he just continues his message.

He DID have to rebut attacks against him, but didn’t have to attack back.
