Rush: Republicans Were 'Thirsting' For Newt's Message
CNSNews.com ^ | January 17, 2012 | By Gregory Gwyn-Williams, Jr.

Today, Rush Limbaugh said that Republican voters know now that Conservatism is “in Newt’s heart.”

“What we had last night in the Newt portion of the debate alone, was the pure and simple, forceful, passionate articulation of conservative principle and belief, that before last night was missing for whatever reason…we know now that it’s in Newt’s heart, it’s there.”

The dirty little secret is they were thirsty for part of Ron Paul’s economic message too. So much so many are willing to over look the nasty parts of his message.

Fact is no other candidate shares his sense of urgency over our out of control spending and regulations and that’s a damn shame.

What I thought was most shocking about Rush’s comments yesteray about Newt... Rush said it was NEWT who had originally inspired him! Before Rush ever had a radio show, Newt was the one that had inspired him... think about that.. Remember that it was Rick Santorum that also said during one of the debates recently... that it was NEWT that had inspired him.

Get on board the Newt-Train, Rush!!!

Brand new polling showing Gingrich leads Romney 35% to 25% among GOP voters who describe themselves as Very Conservative, while Santorum still gets 18% support from Very Conservative voters...

Among Tea Party Republicans, it’s Gingrich 39%, Romney 21% and Santorum 20%....

Go Newt!! Make a Deal, Rick! And Crush Willard the Lib!

I'll never vote for a surrender monkey like Ron Paul. No matter if he's an economic genius. Go Newt. Go Nuclear on Romney or he's our next presidential candidate. No 2008 replay.

When Newt is on his game, and not distracted by being upset, or verging off into cockamamie ideas (like global warming which his book “A contract with the Earth” really get overboard into), then no one can touch him.

He ate up Jaun Williams, he ate up Santorum, he would absolutley eat BArrack Obama alive in a debate. If Newt wins, watch for Obama to avoid debating Newt at every turn.

We saw him in GREAT form on Monday and I hope and pray he sticks to that and leaves the other behind. If he does, his numbers will rise again, and ultimately Perry and Santorum will jump on board and comnbine our conservative vote behind him.

I was sent an article that I haven’t read yet that was titled something to the effect of “Newt, the Practicle Conservative” I believe that practicle would also mean “common sense”, most of what I see as Conservative principles can be arrived at by the application of reason, which equals “common sense”. Newt’s knowledge, and intelligence tempered with “common sense” gives him an advantage.

Newt is pretty far from being a saint. Since he isn’t, he should start sticking it to Obozo over Solyndra, Fast and Furious and all the other Obama scandals. There is a smorgasbord of material out there.

He is the guy to do it, so go do it, Newt.

I know there’s an entire segment of folks who keep repeating that Paul is nutso on foreign policy, but that he’s really sane when it comes to the economy.

That is a trough of hogwash if I ever heard it. It operates under the principle that if something is repeated often enough that it will be bought by the masses.

Ron Paul said the other night that he wants zero taxes. He has said that he wants a trillion dollar spending cut the first year of his presidency.

Sitting here at this keyboard and you all at yours, we all know that that is a pie-in-the-sky, irrational pipe dream.

There is no way congress is going to even propose zero taxes and a one year trillion dollar cut in spending.

And, since taxes are included in the US Constitution — even the original one before all the amending began — the Founders did not believe in ZERO taxes.

That is a totally irrational response. Absolutely, completely, irrevocably nutso economic proposal.

And this is the so-called “economic policy” expert? Puh...leeese!

Do you really believe that the cute little symbols disguise your words enough that they don’t sound like something posted on lesser fora? Have a little respect for FR.

My “friends” on Facebook who are rabid Paul supporters are so stupid. They believe anything the guy says - especially troubling to me in the area of the newsletters, where it is obvious to anyone with a brain that the guy is flat out lying about his involvement with the racism and anti-semitism contained in them. They call anyone who doesn’t like Ron Paul an anti-freedom, anti-constitution liberal. They look at Santorum’s tax plan to reduce from 6 rates to 2 (10 and 28 percent) and they say he’s clearly a socialist. They have no problem at all with his duplicity on the issue of earmarks, where he requests lots of earmarks in a spending bill that he knows is going to pass so that he can vote against the bill. Etc. etc. etc.

RuPaul looked and acted like a marionette being manipulated by an epileptic puppeteer last night.

Why *anybody* takes him seriously is beyond me.

Perhaps. But if Gingrich was elected there would still be trash in the White House, just like we have now with Obama.

Awww, ooohh Rush but you said he shouldn’t have brought up Bain. That is was not the ‘conservative’ thing to do. You hit on that for two days. Rushie, Rushie I think your percentage of being right is going to have to be adjusted now.

There is no way congress is going to even propose zero taxes and a one year trillion dollar cut in spending.

Outside forces will impose that trillion dollar cut on Congress soon enough. It doesn't matter what they want or propose. The total inability to sell US bonds in the global marketplace will bring an end to the welfare state, just as is now happening in Greece. Ron Paul is just saying we are better off doing it ourselves rather than letting the marketplace decide the timing.

I repeat, he has a sense of urgency lacking in any other candidate. A $trillion cut would be just fine with me for a start.
