Obama may be too chicken to even debate Newt.

That's a very real possibility. Bob Casey Jr. did exactly that with Rick Santorum in 2006 and pretty much let his handlers and a compliant media run his campaign.

There was one single televised debate on some obscure channel which most people didn't get and which was scheduled with little or no advance notice in a time slot to ensure almost zero viewers. Santorum wiped the floor with junior, but nobody saw it.

They could compare green energy scams. Newt’s is bigger and “better”.

What, exactly, is Newt's "green energy scam"?

I heard him recently say that the science on global warming is not settled, and that therefore there is no reason to spend trillions of dollars to try and fight it.

Do you disagree with that?

He made that commercial with Nancy Pelosi in 2008 before Climategate I. He has said that he regrets doing that, and in the ensuing years there has been ample evidence that the whole AGW argument is bogus.

Do you really think President Newt will jump on the global warming train? Really?

I don't.

Actually, for a person who depends on a Teleprompter and runs around pretending he is a rock star instead of Presdent, I am not sure Obama would even risk debating Romney.

Santorum is a much better conservative candidate on paper, but he does lack Gingrich’s passion. Rather, he lacks Gingrich’s ability to project his passion. I have no doubt that Santorum has passion in his beliefs, but that doesn’t come across through television. We need a candidate with the personal integrity of Santorum, the conservatism of Perry (minus the immigration position) and the intellect and passion of Gingrich. Conservatives have a week to decide which of the three they will back or they concede the race to Romney.

Do you really think President Newt will jump on the global warming train? Really?

He's already on it and you would see it if you had the courage to look rather than believing what you want to believe. At the first Huckabee forum he said he would eliminate the EPA and replace it with an "Environmental Solutions Agency". And while you were deliberately looking away he expanded on the idea and has said he would give incentives for buying flex fuel vehicles and "incentivize" energy.

Gingrich’s list of energy policies includes providing incentives for flex fuel vehicles that can use corn-based ethanol rather than gasoline — a key issue for Iowa’s farm economy.

Newt Gingrich proposes abolishing EPA (January 2011)

Gingrich "claims" he opposed cap and trade but he seemed to like the idea when he did an 07 Frontline interview.

Asked if he supported George W. Bush’s campaign pledge in 2000 to set mandatory carbon caps, Gingrich responded:

"I think if you have mandatory carbon caps combined with a trading system, much like we did with sulfur, and if you have a tax-incentive program for investing in the solutions, that there's a package there that's very, very good. And frankly, it's something I would strongly support." he said.

He then went on to criticize Bush for backing off the pledge.

"If he had instituted a regime that combined three things I just said -- mandatory caps, a trading system inside the caps, as we have with clean air, and a tax incentive to be able to invest in the new technology and to be able to produce the new technology -- I think we would be much better off than we are in the current situation," Gingrich said.

Newt Gingrich claims he 'never favored cap and trade'

"Santorum...does lack Gingrich’s passion. Rather, he lacks Gingrich’s ability to project his passion. I have no doubt that Santorum has passion in his beliefs, but that doesn’t come across through television."

One could also read that as, "Santorum is more even-keeled, cooly analytical and more capable of controlling his passions."

All of the GOP candidates should be talking this way about going up against Obama.

What, and live in fear of being racists? /s

Newt will "clobber" 0bama if he gets the nod, Romney would cower in apology.

Thanks for explaining santorum’s bid for reelection. With a complicit media, there will be no debates. Probably one network will offer a candidates’ forum, where each is asked questions but can’t of each other. They will tie newts hands first. Or else put a transmitter in the giant Obama ear. A micro-prompter, if you will.

Yes. Mercurial is NOT something we want in our President, though it is handy in debates.

Newt should take it farther (metaphorically speaking) and steal a line, paraphrasing, from General George S. Patton....”I’m not going to just kill the socialist ba**erd. I’m going to cut out his living guts and use them to greese the treads of my tank.” also “I’m going to grab him by the nose, and kick him in the a$$.”

Please...this is just colorful metaphors...nothing more.

Should there be a debate and Newt(slim chance, but there is a chance)is the Republican nominee I think Newt should preface some questions with, Mr President, Herman Cain asked if you would answer this question.......... That would shove a hot poker in the media’s racist eyes.

“I am not sure Obama would even risk debating Romney.”

What debate....they would both just smile and smirk at each other and not give answers with substance.

I want a scrapper and fighter like Newt to face Mr. Obama in the debates. This “nice guy” stuff is boring.
