It could be problematic to refloat her. The gash was pretty big. They could fill the spaces with ping pong balls (literally) and hold them in with netting to bring her upright and try to tow her to dry dock. She will be refloated, renamed and back in service in under two years. Before the all the lawsuits and criminal trials are settled.
Maybe they can haul it the way they did with the Cole (505 feet long).
What ever happened to watertight bulkheads?
The evacuation is complete.
I would think the proper bulkheads could be sealed, the hole temporarily covered with a pre-formed patch (over the ping-pong balls?) , and the bulk of the water pumped out.
Of course this would have been easier before it capsized.
Now it will have to be set upright, somehow.
It’s going to be mess no matter what is done, but from such shallow water I would be disgusted to find they gave up and scrapped it.
