Marco Rubio and Allen West – Florida’s rising GOP tsunami

There's a storm brewing in Florida. But rather than a storm conjured by Mother Nature, this tempest is of the man-made political variety.

From NPR's report of his comments that Islam is not a religion but a "theocratic political ideology" that poses a threat to America to his response emailed to the Weekly Standard following criticisms over the controversial Marines' video telling the “over-emotional pundits and armchair quarterbacks” who have never been “shot at by the Taliban” that “war is hell” so “shut your mouth,” it’s pretty safe to say that Florida's Republican House Rep. Allen West isn’t afraid to tell you what he really thinks.

Then there’s Florida's Republican Senator Marco Rubio. In a blistering Jan. 6 letter sent to Barack Obama -- and obtained by Human Events -- Rubio excoriated the destructive effects of the president’s first three years in office saying it has caused a growing number of people “to believe that America is becoming a deadbeat nation.”

Of course both of these guys have some headwinds to face. Allen West is *hated* by the Florida media....the press dismisses him and ignores him at every turn. Also, the REPUBLICAN legislature is apparently trying to take away his district.

Marco Rubio is hated less by the media, but his letter to Hussein was summarily ignored, too.

But every visit by Hussein or his sycophants (Plugs Biden, MO, or Debbie Wasserhag Schmuck, for instance) is greeted with joy and celebration by the media.

Are you saying that the Rep FL legislature is trying to carve West’s district from under him to put someone else in, or get rid of it all together?

Being hated by the Left is a very good thing.

I would have absolutely no respect for anyone in politics that is not hated by the Left.

And, regarding your screen-namesake, that conservative fares the best who can mock and ridicule the left and the leftist media...which is the best proof that don’t give a damn about doing what is necessary to earn the left’s pretended respect.

I like your reply, I think. I would appreciate it if expounded on that thought.

Reagan made fun of the media. He put them in their place. And the media and the left hated him for that. Unlike RINOs who go to DC and become Democrat-lights in order to receive favorable coverage by the media.

Reagan earned the respect of the people by doing so, and he brought patriotism back into vogue in this country...all because he could laugh at the left and didn’t give a damn about whether or not they pretended to respect him.

The fact of the matter is that no leftist/liberal respects anyone to their right. They simply do not. And they will not. If people to their right act like liberals in order to gain the respect of liberals, those liberals just disrespect them all that much more...even if they pretend to respect them.

No kidding. Allen West is amazing...but since he “tortured” prisoners to save lives of American soilders..the left would certainly pull same on him as they did with Cain.

I miss Cain on the campaign trail. What a loss to America that we have to hold our noses and vote for (probably) Romney.

Still, any GOP candidate we have is miles better than Obama. That’s for sure.

“The fact of the matter is that no leftist/liberal respects anyone to their right.”

Liberals respect no one including themselves. When you have no self respect, its impossible to respect someone else and it makes people like Reagan or Tebow jokes or treats to them. Humans are all flawed little creatures in their eyes and only the State and other proud institutions like universities, liberal media, hollywood, etc. can provide guidance and thus be respected.

I also would have to vote Mitt.... I’d have to hold my nose and puke a little when I do.
Mitt is obama lite.

We are beginnimng a year of combat, it will be bloody.

Politics can't be a spectator sport for us, our kid's and grandkid's future is at stake.

With the GOP elite having orgasms over Romney, I’m now of the belief that being hated by the GOP is also a good thing. Looks like these two are doing their jobs too well and the GOP doesn’t like it.

Newt, as far back as last spring, expressed that he'd like Col. West for his VP.

There's a ticket their/our “Enemies Domestic” are frightened to death of - and why they are our enemies too - banding together for their own evil purposes, from destroying America to saving their Elitist control.

They are the Socialist RATS, the equally Socialist Media and the Republican Cabal - aka “The Establishment”.

They have joined league and are attacking only the canddates/people that can stop their control and destruction of our country - They are attacking Newt, West and Rubio like the Hounds of Baskerville.

I have never seen such an evil alignment in my lifetime - and I'm a great gramma.

If the general public doesn't wake up to the reality of who our enemies are - that even the Republican Establishment have joined the enemy in their determination to keep their power - then we are lost.

Unfortunately, there's not a lot of evidence that that awareness exists - even, to a disconcerting degree, here in FR
