Once again the damn media got it wrong. Those Marines were rendering first aid for jellyfish stings . . .
YES! Thank you, FRiend.
That might piss you off a bit to -
Where's your outrage over our soldiers being denied air cover, being killed - about our soldiers not being able to shoot until the Taliban get the first shot - giving then first kill advantage? Where's your condemnation about the things I posted in post 20?
I'm with Col. West - “Shut your mouth...”
As to the rest of your post, well, I won't kid you. I don't care what your opinion is.
Seems like my Congressman (West) is more "liberal" than many on this forum, who think that there should be no punishment at all for these Marines.
Part of what makes our military better than others is the fact that such incidents (the abuse of dead enemy combatants) are rare, as they should be. And, IMHO, these incidents should neither be gleefully celebrated nor hysterically condemned.
War is hell.
What is our military mission in Afghanistan, because if the military units that are operating there (from top O to bottom E) don’t know that, then we are wasting money and lives? We should pull out now if the mission is unclear. I would support it now.
If our mission is to attack and destroy an enemy, then pxssing on their dead bodies is a great tactic to intimidate an enemy.
If our mission is to win the hearts and minds then this act sets us back.
Public officials should fully understand this before opening their mouth, and much before 20+ yo Marines in combat with lots of adrenaline, testosterone, bravado and patriotism (that 60yos like myself have long forgot except for patriotism. They and us are far removed from those that sent them, who prefer collecting 7 digit pay while living the lap of luxury in an Upper Manhattan Apt..
This isn’t about politics it is about the importance of an absolutely coherent focused military mission understood by all involved.
Did I post this before? I probably forgot to push the final post button. We all hate wasting time rewriting posts.
We have had many failings; but believe our acquiescence to political correctness has been our most critical surrender to this disease that destroys mind and spirit - and nation.
And yes; while we have lost so much ground; do still believe; America can pull it out. No question; however; if we do not do it now; then 'never' will be be a long, long time. (Do believe, only Newt understands the myriad of critical issues we face as a nation.)
Do not understand how anyone can imagine that any luxury of time remains on our side.
To be - or not to be - America;. For all 'intents and purposes'; Election 2012 is our last call. . .
Would offer the already 'hysterical' demands for 'redress' by conscience-striken Liberals - and Islamists - is another punishment - that none of them deserves, in truth. Allowing, of course; that Liberals and Islamists; do not have the 'normal' conscience that we are giving name to. Theirs is a pained conscience (of convenience); supposedly claimed, on behalf of these Marines; and one, that otherwise; is never called into 'personal use'.
Point Blank.. I did two tours as a (combat) MP. While out in the Red Zone, you disregard many of the civilities we were brought up and raised in. It is war, we all do sh+t out there, I know I did. I know on my first tour as Patrol Leader, I made a few new terrorists. but so what, my troops came home..alive. so what if the Marines pissed on the dead bodies. What about the 3,000 plus Americans who were killed in NYC on 911?
I’m with West on this.
addendum.. the 2 101st that were beheaded, I trained with that company at NTC the summer prior to their deployment, at FOB Miami / Ft Irwin.
Very nice! 2 thumbs up!
