If they actually wanted to win, they would. This guy is George H.W. Bush without the foreign policy cred and military service. I think I once read that no member of the Romney family has ever served in uniform.

If they went over him with a fine toothed comb, it would ruin his chances of winning the nomination. They want their boy to win the nomination, therefore they are angry that anybody dare bring up any criticisms of it.

The fact that Rudy Giuliani publicly criticized Gingrich and Perry over this says a lot, especially since Giuliani is a close friend of Perry's.

You can bet that a lot of the establishment Republicans were quietly letting the Gingrich and Perry campaigns know that they want them to back off Romney.

I've been thinking for quite some time now that the GOP knows there's no saving our nation from economic disaster. They WANT a democrat in charge rather than a republican when it happens since the rats will just blame them instead.

Even worse, they want the collapse to happen, since they are basically in agreement with the rats on the way things work now, even if they have slightly different motives.
