Romney opens 21-point lead in South Carolina: Reuters/Ipsos(sample 995 SC reg. voters 398R 380D)
Reuters ^ | Saturday January 14, 2012 | Jeff Mason

(Reuters) - Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has opened a wide lead over his rivals in the South Carolina primary election race, trouncing Newt Gingrich and gaining momentum in his march toward the party's nomination, a Reuters/Ipsos poll shows.

Romney, a former Massachusetts governor, could all but quash his rivals' presidential aspirations with a victory in South Carolina on January 21 after winning the first state-by-state nominating contests in Iowa and New Hampshire.

Voters in South Carolina - who have favored Republicans in nine of the last 10 presidential elections - appear to have shrugged off attacks on Romney by rivals who accuse him of killing jobs as a private equity executive for Bain Capital in the 1990s.

The poll showed 37 percent of South Carolina Republican voters back Romney. Congressman Ron Paul and former Senator Rick Santorum tied for second place with 16 percent support.

Gingrich, a former speaker of the House of Representatives, has fallen far back after holding a strong lead in South Carolina in December. He was in fourth place at 12 percent in the Reuters/Ipsos poll.

“All the ground troops know that but the movers and shakers are oblivious.”

I disagree that the nomenklatura are oblivious. For them, a Romney versus Obama race is win/win. Deep trough, big government, small liberty statists win either way.

My candidate won a primary.

Your candidate won a caucus, which incidentally, hasn't picked the eventual winner of the Republican primary in a very, very long time.

I'd tell you not to get your hopes up, but your balloon is already untethered.

I will not under ANY circumstances vote for Romney.

Some say, “If Romney is the nominee, I’ll hold my nose and pull the lever.....” I will NOT, period.

That is exactly what Romney, the Republican elite AND OBAMA are counting on. They can ALL KMA.

The Republican elite, MSM, including Fox news, are ruining this country every bit as much as Obama and the dems. This corrupt gang needs to be stopped dead in it’s tracks.

I WILL NOT reward them with my vote. My character will not allow me to vote for that lying POS baby killing RINO, Romney.

I want a strong leader, with a proven record of accomplishments and a clear vision for our future. I am not looking for a Reverend, Priest or Rabi or some weirdo mormon. I want a president that will turn this country around intelligently and quickly.

I will continue to support the one man that I believe in my heart and head can turn this country around and set the course for my children and grandchildren to have a better future........ that man is Newt Gingrich.

GO NEWT GO.........

The guy who won Iowa.

Well, that would be Romney, although the vote counts were in dispute.

Did Santorum get more votes when the smoke cleared? If he did, the MSM and the RINOS have some humble pie to eat.

They still haven’t released a ‘certified count’. NH put theirs out awhile ago.

Which, speaks volumes. If the count had a Romney win, it would have been released like a week ago.

The deception in the media has always been extremely frustrating, but with Fox leading the pack for Romney, I'm beyond mad. I am sending everyone I know the following letter to prove the lies the media wants them to believe. I want to make sure I have this correct & not be another person giving false info. Please tell me if I have this right. Thanks.

Dear Friends,

With the election very near I wanted to make a point about media coverage (including and especially Fox).

If you glance at this article is says Romney is 21 points ahead.  That is very deceptive. Most people don't read the full article.  This is a Republican primary, and knowing that full well, Reuters chose to use an poll that included 398 republicans and 380 democrats.  Democrats can't vote in South Carolina Republican primaries.  PLUS, this is an online poll.  That means anyone, including democrats could go online and vote as many times  as the poll is open.

I tell you this so you don't believe everything you see, read or hear.  Even Fox News and much of what people normally consider conservative talk radio hosts are playing favorites. Why did Fox put this on there webpage?  They, along with other media outlets, have Bain Capital/Clear Channel as their employers. See article below. Mitt Romney was on of the founding partners for Bain Capital and still has stake in the business.

I am praying that God gives us a man of integrity, who is conservative especially socially, but also economically, and if possible a believer.  It's so easy to glance at a headline and believe it, make sure its true.

Blessings to you all.

I included the full article below for them.

Clear Channel Communications, Inc. Completes Merger with Private Investor Group

SAN ANTONIO, TX – July 30, 2008 - Clear Channel Communications, Inc. today announced the completion of a merger with an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of CC Media Holdings, Inc., a corporation formed by a private equity group co-led by Bain Capital Partners, LLC and Thomas H. Lee Partners, L.P.  The total transaction is valued at approximately $24 billion.

The Fix is in—Mittens will win, Florida and North Carolina will finish the race. To make things sure of an Obama victory—Ron Paul will run on a 3rd Party ticket and be in the debates. SO lets toss a monkey wrench into the play-—Dirty Tricks to educate the voters.
Posters could be made and distributed: “ Obama For King!”
or “Hillary got Screwed—First Bill then Barry” or “Don’t want to vote for a Mormon? Then vote for a Muslim!” or “Michele for Queen-Empress—” “let em eat cake!”
An underground newspaper could be made—”Telling the truth about all sorts of things—Printed and just left places—a few at a time—make em cute and Telling of all the corruption—lies—etc.. Call it The Torch of Freedom.
Make a drawn cartoon with Obama as a monkey—in the white house (his ears are the give away) living in the white house and he thinks hes really ruling but others are doing it. All the Dems are animals (Mitt a Rino?) It could be called Evil Monkey—make it funny—to counter all the Left wing comedy talk—on the late night shows. Once again it would be distributed —or posted (maybe in the torch?)
Demonstrations could be done with groups—fictitious ones—Like Metrosexuals for Obama. Or KKK for Obama! They could write letter of support for Obama —Why would the KKK support Obama? Look what he’s doing to the Black community! Even they were powerless to cause this much destruction.
I am sure we can use the tools of the left to undermine the Progressive-Communist party and their goals. Knowing their plans gives us an edge.

I’m sorry to say that Newt couldn’t beat Obama in a million years . Your average voter is a moron , basically . More concerned about American Idol , Dancing With The Stars and who won Sunday’s football game than anything else . People who are disenchanted with Obama might vote for a relatively good looking , Presidential looking Romney , but never for a pasty , old , fat , beltway bandit like Gingrich . Just telling you how I see it . Not a Romney fan , just being realistic .

They have a narrative to push. Never mind the polls that show Newt gaining on Mitt, they are going to push these online polls that mean nothing.
