While I gave a few examples, news sources from the left, the right, Libertarian news sources, far-left news sources, far-right news sources are all coming to the same conclusion: Romney is full of crap.

Gov. Palin is making a valiant effort to stay relevant, but truth is, she had her chance and chickened out.

The Romney campaign’s retort is to cite Staples, Sports Authority and Dominos.
Problem is, is that they intentionally leave out the job losses from other companies with which Bain was involved and the Romney campaign’s tally is based on current figures, not the period when Romney worked at Bain.

Romney is to Bain and its “created” jobs what Kerry was to his Vietnam record and medals. You can get away with the false claims in local politics, but when you go national, the REAL data comes out.

I wonder if Romney has figured out conservatives don't like him and don't have his back yet? How does he think he's going to win when we obviously hate him and we're openly working against him? Does he think that's going to change because he manages to weasel his way in against our will? Hell no. That will make it worse. Why would anyone invest in this fool's campaign when it's clear that their investment will not yield a return?

Is that created or “saved”? Romney needs to talk to the stimulus accountants for advice on this one! Seriously speaking, I’m no Romney supporter but as a former business lender I can tell you this is a hard number to project. For every job created, there is a ripple effect leading to creation or partial creation of additional jobs. And how about his “saving the Olympics”? Is he to get credit for every job associated with the Winter Olympics? I would strongly suggest he avoid the use of hard numbers and simply state his past policies have created or saved jobs. As to jobs lost as some ads emphasize, you can’t save every one. As a lender, I can tell you it’s hard to pull the plug on anyone, but sometimes it has to be done. Irony is that many who fail go on to become a success in another venture. They just needed to be told it was a losing venture and time to move on.
To: Laissez-faire capitalist
If Romney was talking about the venture capital part of Bain Capital as well as the private equity part, it should be easy enough for him to provide back-up to his claim. Staples alone employs 90,000 people. But if Romney can't credibly support the 100,000 net job-creation number, then his campaign is in deep trouble.
